If I was on my computer, I'd post the link to that Vexer calculator. Maybe later tonight if no one beats me to the punch.

Just remember that discussing wheel width is always an open topic but, wheel diameter is similar to politics or religion.

We will have to see some proof of that!   :D

Oof. Let's not go there again.  :smilielol:

I have 295 50 15's on a 10" wide wheel with a 5" backspace on the rear, clears no problem.

Here pics 295 on 8 inch rim. i had 15 by 10 rims 4.5 back space before and would scrap on the inside of outer wheel well for 10 inch rims a five inch back space would be perfect.
Now i just run my tires on 8 inch rims plus its legal here, as the ten inch rims put my track width over the legal limit here in Australia.

just laid my 15x10w5.5bs rims earlier tonight (mag500s) will buy 295-50s next wk, no tires yet, can't recall some specifics from the last set (10+yr ago) but recall details but not sure enough to post, but in keeping with others above.  Anycase, it appears 5.5 bs should easily fit on inside but will likely be tight to the bump on the outer wheel house (my car is lower than many).   I do recall my last set would rub with people in back at outer wheel house and when no one else cornering would shine the leafs & inner wheel house (it was tight)

Mr tracpack440, my fronts are 15x8s, what size wheel and tire is on your, looks just right to me

Me too.
I have a 3-3/8" backspace on the front. No rub issues.

Anyone have pics of a car with 275 60's ? will they clear ? a little taller than the 295  :drool5:

I had 325 50 15s on my car for years. 15x10 5.5" BS. Only time it rubbed was when I had the back seat full of people (car was also lowered)

I also have 325s, on 8.5" rims.  Although I plan on 295s in the near future.

Well, yesterday I tried part one of my experiment...

Un-satisfied with the look of my 275 Drag radial on the 8.5" rim, I mounted a 295/50 on the 8.5" rim and tossed it on. NO problems what so ever and loads of room left...

In a couple of weeks, once they are CNC'd, powdercoated and cleared, I'll be test fitting a set of 10" rims on the back... Possibly with 305's on them.

Keep in mind, I'm running CalTracs, but they are bolted in the factory location, so it has no bearing.. No mini-tubs...

I went from 235's up front to 245's on a 7.5" rim. Again, tons of room left...

Next will be the 8.5" up front with 255's...

275's fit perfectly in the rear, and yes, I've found they are about 1.25" taller than my 295's.

:2thumbs:  Thanks tracpack440

I change regularly too (old A/P torque trusts, 69 dog dish, mag500s & looking for slots)  I have had 15x10s w/295-50 before yrs ago, just got in last wk new set 15x8 & 15x10w/ 5.5 bs will be getting 295-50s, here they are with no tires, inside photos well, outside not so much.... i predict inside no issues and outside rubbing at times on outer wheel house bump thingy, stock old tired leaf springs (aka lower but not lowering blocks), go big  :Twocents:.  Here are a couple photos maybe they help see.

I was looking for a set of 15x8 wheels; I ended up finding a set of 15x8.5 and the 325s were on them when I got them at the swap meet.  My intentions were to put 275s on the rear, but I figured I'd see how the 325s fit/looked.  I was kind of shocked when they fit without rubbing.  The tires are trash, very worn; but I've only put 60 miles on them, so no big deal right now.  I kind of like the bigger tires.   :coolgleamA:  Looking at 295s now, I think that's the biggest street tire I can get.  325s are only drag radials, and I don't want to burn up that much $$; if you know what I mean.

I don't know the backspace, I forget how to measure that...

Finally got rubber on
235-60s on 8"rims & 295-50s on 10" rims (as tight as I remembered from 10yrs ago)

On my Charger I went with 15x10 wheels with 5.5 backspacing and 295/50/15 Cooper tires and had rubbing issues on the inner wheel well when turning corners so I ended up installing a rear sway bar and scraping off the undercoating and that stopped most of the rubbing then I ended up making some cast iron spacers from old disc brake rotors cut off in the lathe and they were a little thicker than .250" to space out the wheels, I installed a little longer wheel studs to compensate for that. If it was sitting at stock ride height I would have went with the 5" backspace wheels and been done with it but since it sits a little lower than stock and looking to lower it a little more you start coming real close to the bump in the outer part of the wheel well just behind the wheel lip moulding which I will be modifying or eliminating the bump when I put on my new AMD quarter panels in the near future or when I win the Lottery!
