Just what kind of paint did the factory use?

Some of the paint on my 70 Charger has held up remarkably well. Just what kind of primer and paint did they use?   :shruggy:

Acrylic enamel I believe.

These cars were painted with acrylic ENAMEL from the factory.  :yesnod:

That is a PPG color chart. You could get the colors mixed by an auto body supplier in either lacquer OR enamel. Some body shops back then were using acrylic lacquers in their paint systems.
