Hope that this is posted in the correct department, but just curious to see if anyone here has ever used this 'Chrome-Tape' to cover up any minor imperfections. If so, what was your impression of it? Was it very noticeable once applied compared to the actual chrome item, etc.? Here are actually two links, but I'm assuming the same stuff - just different suppliers:

Thank you for any replies,

I'm curious, what type of imperfections?....I don't think putting tape over anything is going to fool too many nor give you any better aesthetics than just leaving the imperfection. Don't waste your money and time with the tape idea. Properly fix and or replace the problem area. IMO :2thumbs:

I don't know about small imperfections, but that stainless steel tape and some window screen make lovely bed for body filler on the utterly absent lower panels of an Aerostar. It took two gallons to close those holes! Stuff worked great, though!

Looking for a CD by  'The Sub-Mersians'  entitled "Raw Love Songs From My Garage To Your Bedroom"

Also, any of the various surf-revival compilation albums this band has contributed to.

Nothing major at all - the only slight imperfection was on a small trim piece in a not-so-obvious spot, which is good. But, I was just curious for the sake of curiosity. Thanks!

They make some pretty good looking chrome film these days. I'll bet under the right circumstances, the stuff could be vacuum applied to a bumper. Probably last as long as the original chrome plating.

I use the chrome tape on the inside of my tail light housings for bulb reflection.....it's a lot cheaper than getting the housings in a 66 Charger re-chromed

I used it to reapply the chrome to the bands on my headrests. It looks more accurate to the original appearance than the reproduction part.

Thanks gents for the replies.  :2thumbs: If I could ask one more question to those who have used this chrome tape - does it appear to be just a bright silver shade when applied or does it actually have a mirror-like finish to it?

Thanks again,
Aaron

the tape I used was kind of in-between....not a true mirror finish..but very close
