half a flash-er

My '69 emergency flashers half works. When i put the emergency flashers on, the front flashers, hood mounted turn sinals and the instument cluster all work. The lights all work but the seem to flash fasther than they should.

However I get no rear taillights flashing-nothing. the tail lights work just fine with the running lights, brake and turn signal but not with the emergency flasher.

Any ideas?

I'm thinking bad switch....got the same issue on my 66 at times....all work except the left front at times

Swtich? no chance of the relay? (the switch is a pain in the ass to swap)

Grounds, bad or wrong lamp, bad flasher....usually in that order

could be all of the above    ,  mine still had this problem  a after i done the resto    ,  found it to be the switch , dirty / oxidised contacts  ,  if  i opperated it so i just rocked it  with out fully moving it to the on position it would work !!  , i took the switch appart  , cleaned the contacts &  put a a small dollop of fresh  electrical grease in it  , put it back together  ,  worked perfect

the original poster says that the tail lights and brake & turn lights all work as normal except when he uses the 4 way flasher

now to me, that would rule out bulbs or grounds...and he also states that the fronts blink with the 4 ways turned on...that would rule out the flasher unit..

I still say bad contacts inside the 4 way switch

Yes - But as soon as he said fast flash I posted. Throw in the switch and check everything then
