For 7500 this car is nicely done vs the other one I have shown earlier that the guy wants 7k for  ::)

Absolutely not!

The other one you posted is a much better car, both option wise and desirability.

That car isnt worth near what he wants for it. And i can almost guarantee you judging by the description that is nothing more than a prettied up POS (the rims dont help my argument either)

Rust bubbling (dont know whats under that paint) and need patch work...again its most likely a bondo rust bucket

Missed the front valance during paint?? HOW DO YOU MISS A FRONT VALANCE! Clearly this paint job was done on the cheap.

The car is slow enough as it is with a 318 2-barrel...throw ridiculous 20" rims on it and now your moving even slower and stopping distance has increased due weight as well.

Throw nice set of 15" rims back on the car, and on a good day 2k-3k tops depending on how bad the rust is and how much bondo is slapped on her.

TruckDriver

I agree, the other car is a way better deal, and more desirable.

The car i looked at the yellow is a decent car, but when I looked at it and when I talked to him he didnt seem on the up and up...

Thats why i didnt budge and when folks start talking about "a proffessional appraisal' told me this and that I kinda get turned off from there. I like to base things off market value not what some guy told him. Kinda like the Barret Jackson deal where folks saw a Charger go for 200k and then they think they can get the same amount for what they have  ::)

A manual in a car is desirable, but I could easily throw a tremtec manual 5 speeder in any charger also for the price he is asking and IM not about numbers on a 3rd gen charger a 2nd gen charger YES I would care since those hold value higher than any gen charger.

Aslo the guy with the yellow car told me he recieved that car last year so he has no history with it and him telling, 'Oh its a 400ci engine and it it runs awesome' well that to me means he dont know much about engines except that a bigger number is better than a smaller number in his eyes.  ::) this was after the fact I asked about its tranny and engine history.

As for the guy in the red car selling his I could swap out the 20 inchers for a 17inchers vs the car in yellow where a paint job is 5k, tune up a major one probably 2k, etc...at least the guy in the red has his recieptsi n order vs the yellow car.

I offered 4500 for his yellow charger and all he could telling me was 'its a 400ci engine its runs strong with tranny' kept repeating that over and over I dont know why.

If the rust is starting to bubble from under the paint on the red one it's just going to need as much if not more work than the yellow one Also you must consider its a small block and must less desirable call as well. You could easily do a complete overhaul brakes and tuneup on the yellow one for under $500 using stock parts.

I have a feeling the red one was hastily thrown together and painted this being more evident by the fact that they forgot to paint the front valance, Whereas the yellow one is seems is more of what you see is what you get. I would take a faded 400 four speed car over a complete restored 318 car any day

Keep the 2k in wheels and the car is $5500...

between you and I YEAH I would like to take the yellow over the red one!!!! It was the way the seller acted and talked to me like he was hiding something thats all. I just posted this red one for comparison to the yellow in the so called 'price range'. I personally seen better than both for 7k Theres  another local guy who is selling his with reciepts from the engine and tranny build up, reciepts for work up on car etc....and in bbetter condition.

My thing is if I wanted a 2nd charger I would not want to thorw down over 5k thats all and im being picky since im not desperate for at 7k since I seen better at that price range.

The red one is more likely to have hidden problems.  The yellow one doesn't seem to be messed with and is obviously a project car to begin with.

Right, yellow seems more straight foward...old faded paint without rust bubbling is better than new paint with potential problems...again yellow is more of it is what it is.

AirborneSilva

I'd have to go with the yellow one as well, beings it's from the desert rust shouldn't be an issue and it has the big block with 4 speed  :2thumbs:

I agree with you whole heartedly, but the car maybe straight forward, but the owner is not thats why I could not pay his price. As a seller you have to 'sell' me something which means tell me about it and he couldnt tell me about it one bit.

all he could say was, 'its a block and its a beast etc....' yeah ok. I got a 455 from a chevelle in my backyard thats a big block too.

i want it for the 4 speed I know though it will not sell for his asking price on a 3rd gen seen too many fellas ask that same price and never get it and I get a call back 6 months later asking if I wanted it for the price I asked for awhile ago.  YES its happened to me many times so I will hold off.
