I won $150 on the game
got three of the four qtrs in the football pool

And what the hell is up with running up to the goal line, stopping, turning around and sitting down in the end zone?
And don't try to tell me he was trying to run time off the clock.

he was told to not score. he was supposed to fall at the 1 if they didnt tackle him. then after the pats call their last time out, they could snap the ball and run a play eating most of the time off the clock and kicking a field goal with mere seconds left on the clock. with a good kick off it would be mabey 2 plays if your lucky from your own 20. that would take the ball out of brady's hands. with 50 sec's left and a time out, brady had plenty of time to score a td. only his guys didnt catch the ball, and he over threw welker when he was open.

The biggest difference in the game IMHO was the intentional grounding called on Tom Brady, throwing to no-one in site & over the whole defense, while he was still the pocket, while in the end zone, on the Patriots very 1st play of the game -2pts...  The shadow of the Patriots cheating years will always follow him/them Brady/Patriots, they haven't won a Super Bowl since they were caught ,filming practices & signals..... Maybe the comparing him to Joe Montana stuff should stop now, maybe, If I remember correctly Joe Montana won every Super Bowl he was in...  Tom Brady with 3 wins & 2 losses now, both losses to Eli's Giant's... You can't refute his successes he will no doubt be a "hall of fame" inductee... It was a completely different era for Joe Monatana, no-one except Dan Marino or Warren Moon or Jim Kelly threw for 50 passes regularly in games in his era & neither of them ever won a Super Bowl, with the run & shoot no huddle type systems, but they all like Tom Brady, Eli Manning, Payten Manning, Drew Brees, Arron Rodgers & others now in the new era, all have thrown for 50 times regularly in many games, the stats will all be higher for the new era guys...  All of Joe Montana's teams were far more balanced with, great defenses too boot... No more comparing Brady to Montana please... Congrats to all the Super Bowl Championship winning Giants fans, maybe now we can look forward to the draft & next years season... The debate goes on....

The big difference in the game was some terrible mistakes by the D at the worst possible times. The holding call that negated a fumble recovery, the offsides on a 3rd and 8 incompletion with the Giants on their own 10yd line, and the 12 men on the field.
 :brickwall:
Even after all that, if Welker makes that catch, game over.

You can't possibly lay this on Brady.

As far as the silly cheating talk, please. Yeah, absolutely no success since. 16-0 in 2007, 11-5 in 2008 (with Matt freaking Cassell at QB), 10-6 in 2009, 14-2 in 2010. But it's the fact that they've lost the 2 super bowls that somehow proves that they can't win anymore? That's rich.  :smilielol:

That said, New Engalnd is $20 MILLION under the salary cap and have 2 1st rd and 2 2nd rd picks in this coming draft. I think they'll be fine.

12 men on the field cost them the fumble. i thought the ball was high to welker (a short reciever). and if he would have caught it he would have gotten good yardage. brady didnt get much help with the drops, blocking was weak, and brady made some judgment errors. eli didnt fold like i thought he would.

That's not what was said, by me at least, I said they haven't won a "Super Bowl", since the well documented, fact that they were caught cheating, it will follow them for ever... Also that they only got a minor slap on the hand & a small fine {in the realm of things} & the loss of a 1st round draft pick, is minor compaired to the offense... IMHO Now it's all Welker's fault come on, just because he catches the throw doesn't mean they make a kick, both teams suffered from the too many players on the field penalty, how about the other dropped passes on the final drive by both tight ends {other 2 steller offensive players} & the safety to start the game, fumbles can go either way all the time, especially with instant replay in use, now your putting the blame on some one other than your beloved QB Tom Brady, {Welker} that has helped your team through all of the stuff & your a Pat's fan...

Hmm, so in the every first line, I say that defensive mistakes were the difference in the game and somehow you translate that to "it's all Welker's fault"?  :slap:

Um. ok.  :smilielol:

But to say that the VERY FIRST play of the game was the most important, even though the Pats lead at the half and had an 8 pt lead in the 3rd quarter is bizarre. Cripes, it wasn't even the magin of victory.  ::)

The cheating thing has been beaten to death. All teams do it. Jimmy Johnson basically said so at the time. The difference was the location of the camera. The NFL specifically sent out a memo the week before that game telling teams to not video tape on the field. The taping still goes on elsewhere by all teams. Why do you think coaches cover their faces when calling in plays? Good grief.

Oh, and no, just because he catches the ball doesn't mean they make the kick. What it does mean is that the clock keeps rolling at that point, 4 min left, and the Giants had 1 time out left. The Pats make them use it or they run the ball down under 2 minutes.
