I was looking at some later Chargers online and came across this 1977 Dodge Charger Daytona.Never even knew they made one. They came in 318,360 and 400...Also you could get it with a sure grip.

My buddy had one in high school, really nice car.

I remember those, there were a few of them around East Texas.

God must love stupid people; He made so many.

Never seen one in that color combo. But I seen a few two tone blue ones.

Colour combo is great. Looks good but it needs better wheels.   :Twocents:

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.

My Dad had one back in the day that was cream and gold color. Sharp car and rode like you were on a cloud.
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

I used to own a '77 Charger as a daily driver. 360-auto, dark green with a green landau top and a green interior with buckets. Had some nice options to it. Basically a sportier version of the Cordoba. It really was a nice driving car with a comfy ride.

Pretty much a direct response to the two tone scheme Chevy had started offering on the Monte Carlo in 1976. Chrysler took it a step further by continuing it on the rear quarters.

There was blue one sitting derelict by my place of employment for a long time. I resisted the temptation to put a note on the windshield offering to take it away. Someone else did eventually do just that and it appeared on Craigslist shortly thereafter. I was just happy that it did not get crushed.

I love that car stance... but preffer the Magnum one because the front clip shape
Venezuelan RT 74 400 4bbl, 727, 8.75 3.23 open. Now stroked with 440 crank and 3.55 SG. Here is the History and how is actually: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,7603.0/all.html

A buddy of mine had one of those. His was a 400 car and it was two tone blue. I really like the black and gray on that one. I have never seen that color combo!
I may be schizophrenic but at least I have us!

I once drove  very nice triple black Cordoba with the 400- pretty nice cars.

Mine was a two tone blue one with a 400 in it. It was a great car after I got rid of the "Electronic Lean Burn" ignition.  The Daytona model was also  offered in '76. There was a two tone red/maroon offered in '76 but I have never seen one of those.

A guy in my high school's dad was a Dodge dealer and he drove a new '76 Daytona to school senior year. Two-tone blue.

I used one as a "motel room" the first year the Mopar Nationals were in Indy, 1984-ish.

PA Dodger

I used mine as a "short stay" motel room pretty often around the same time. It was definetly double occupancy size. Oh, to be a teenager again... :D

Here is a picture of my dads old one it was loaded with heaps of options and had ralley wheels. Chrysler Australia imported the car to use at shows to promote the ELB for the valiants. When they finished with the car it was to be destroyed or sent back to the USA. Luck was on the cars side the person my father brought it from payed all the taxes and duty and converted it to right hand drive so it could stay.
Who knows where that car is now. It had a horrible turning circle.

ugly ass cordoba. never really thought of them as chargers. it's like when they brought back the duster in 91. just a bad joke of a car. the new ones 2012 look more like a charger.  :smilielol:

TruckDriver

But I actuaully always liked the Cordoba's. I wish I could find a decent one  :P

I'm not going to say it was my favorite car I have owned. Yes it was a glorified Cordoba. But, what were the other options back then? There was a long dry spell for cool cars in the late '70's and early '80's. Once the musclecar died off in the early '70s the next car worth talking about was the Buick GN and GNX in the mid 80's.

how true to the lack of great design. the coolest cars were gone, but i dont hate this body style. definately no the favorite of most, but still can make a cool build. ive seen some i really like including one belonging to a member here.
