Used a lot in the professional bodyshop business, I'm wondering who the popular suppliers are?

Indygenerallee

I just bought a car cover off Ebay for my 72 Dart Swinger and it was $25.00 shipped. I have seen the cheap clear plastic ones also with a drawstring around bottom.
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

Do you guys have "Supercheap Auto" stores in the USA? I brought a cover for my Charger from them-SCA brand.
They also have larger metal frame type ones for fairly cheap. I was thinking about using one of these as a spray booth to paint my Challenger. Anyone else done this?

Ghoste

I'm just looking for those cheap plastic disposable ones the bodyshops use to keep dust and overspray from settling on cars.

Charger-Bodie

Usually the cars is shops are covered with plastic sheeting that comes on a roll. Its very thin so there is a lot on a roll (cant remember exactly how much) and its like 25 - 30 bucks at a body shop supplie store or on the internet.

Here is an example:

68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

I use a Norton plastic sheet when covering portions of a car to protect from overspray or dust. It is in a continuous roll (200-250' maybe) and unfolds to about 12' wide, just cut what you need. Has a little static cling but needs taped down if spraying clost to any edges. About $30 at auto paint supply stores.

Ghoste

You can get it that way but you can also get it so it is perforated every 20 feet and bag shaped to go over the car.  For my needs that is the style I want as there is seldom the time to cut when we need them.

Orange Bird

A drive in bag. I'll ask my paint supplier tomorrow if I get a chance to call and repost.

Hmmm! Dan, I think you're going to need some form of ventilation (vacumn fans) if you're going to spraypaint in it.

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.

careful with the cheapo plastic ones....car needs to "breathe"

Some plastic ones will cause more harm than good by keeping moisture in the car from evaporating

Thanks for the tip, basically like putting a car in a hot house hey. I will check out my cover and make sure it is breathable

A friend of a friend did this and he used a portable 5 inch vac unit and ducted it through to the roof of the tent. I didn't see it in action but he said it worked quit well.

Ghoste

Breathing isn't an isue in my case.  They will be covered for a maximum of twelve hours and a moisture barrier is exactly the intended purpose.

Orange Bird

My paint guy has no leads on the bag. Only the blow up ones for long term storage. Sorry
