Got my new headers from TTI (pics)...

Figured I'd post up a few pics for those interested in ordering their headers. These are for my 383 w/ power steering. 1 3/4" w/ 3" collector.

Quality looks really good. Should be for the price!  

Lets hope they mate up to the engine with little to no problems.  
























And to get off the topic, my parents came up to visit and dad found an old toy of mine from circa 1981....it definitly had its share of driving in the dirt in our backyard.

Not cheap. With shipping and ceramic coating... grand total of $941. Was going to go with Hedmanns but everyone kept saying TTI was way less of a hassel regarding fitment. Guess we will see.

I didnt actually order my headers myself or I would have got TTIs after reading all the good reviews in here.
My mechanic had been speaking with his supplier in the US about a price and the next thing you lnow they were in his sea container shipment to Oz, so I figured I may as well take them. (They're Flowtechs with inner and outer ceramic coating)
Initially I was a bit pissed that they were knocking on the steering box but he's sorted that now by shimming the engine mounts and now there's no noise.  Well, only the noise of the awesome rumble I now have

I was wondering the same thing but it's just the angle, if you look at it in the other pictures it's not that bad. For plug/wire clearance I'm guessing? Still, that's pushed in about as much as I had to do to my $150 Hedmans, but that was down around the starter.

Damn, I paid $800 for my Charger back when Hedman headers cost about $120!

Make sure you cover them with tape or plastic before install, I scratched the S... outta mine sliding them in, it happens very easily. I was underneath, my buddy up top dragging it across the steering box.!

I've got Cyclone headers on my 68 with a 383...When I put mine on it was easiest putting them on from under the car and I had to disconnect my passenger side tie rod end to get it in...Other than that fairly easy install.

I had to dent the hell outta my TTI's.  They fit about as well as a $200 set of Hedman's as far as I'm concerned.  I would have been extra really pissed, if I had gotten coated ones...  Good luck to you though!

Just a tip, keep the foam/bubble wrap they come wrapped in on when you install them. Just leave the flange exposed so you can bolt them on. Once you got them on, then remove the foam/bubble wrap.
Be sure to wipe any grease/fingerprints off of them as well before start up, if there is any grease on them they will stain from the heat upon first startup. It should also be stated in the instructions to wipe them down with an orange-type cleaner, etc. I had no problem with fit, although my driver's side gasket leaked so I had to replace it is all.

I thought TTI were supposed to be the be-all end-all header of the century?  The clearancing for the plugs on these things is rediculous. I had no idea.

I have to agree. Spend $900 on a set of headers with some tubes smashed flat 
I was going to order a set, but I think now I will research a few $200 headers first.

Man...Even if they did not have flat areas.......WOW almost a $1000 for these seems high, I just dont see the value in it even if they are supposed to fit well.......All headers should fit well regardless of price...TTI gets a $1000 because people pay a $1000.......I just cant see doing that

Ive used them all and I will say that the TTI headers are priced too high, They are by far the best fitting and lasting headers Ive used . period.

$1000.00 set of headers? I better not have to install 'em myself as they should come with their own tech to do it and I better NOT see any dimpling. I better be able to get to ALL my plugs with P/S and brakes with a socket and ratchet.
Other than that, I will stick to my dimpled, don't fit worth two pinches of puppy sh*t, leaking, crusty, hard to get at plugs, Hedmans..
