Curious as to what a fair price is for a Dana 60 rear axle these days?

A couple a grand should do it. You could give DTS Custom in Michigan a call. That's where mine came from. Or are you looking to sell one?
My 1969 Charger. RIP......Rest in pieces.

Dont know what you exactly mean, might wanne be a little more specific.

Used ones (correct B body ones) go for up to a grand. Mostly you need to go trough them to know what you got. And most ebay ones are "pick up only".

New reproduction units based on a strange housing start a 2 grand but that all new stuff. Lots of guys will recommend Dr. Diff and thats where I plan on buying mine. That is if I dont get so lucky to find a used one that I can drag home and restore myself....
Greetings from Belgium, the beer country

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

Cooter

I paid $150.00 for mine with 3.54:1 gear and Trac Loc. Got right at $500.00 in it under an E-body.

Course, if your looking to get an orginal one, as stated, your looking at some dough.

I was curious about what an original goes for. I dont' have one..I just didnt' know what would be a fair price if I ever came across one.

The year and the body makes a big difference in value....and the gear ratio.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

What would be the considered the most highly sought after year and body?

maxwellwedge

3.54  or 4.10

1966-67 and some 1968 Dana rears had an additional drain plug on the bottom of the center housing.

I would say 69-70 B-Body, 70-71 E-body are the most expensive ones.

They are date and body coded...stamped into the axle tube.

I have a 4.10 out of a 69 Road runner for $800 about 3-4 years ago and thought i got a screaming deal it also came with the driveshaft. its sitting in my shop awaiting a car to put it under.

maxwellwedge

That was a great deal.

I have seen them sell for 1000-3000 depending on application and condition.

Since the '71-'72 B-body Dana was made in smaller numbers it's probably the most sought after, after that the E-body. The 4.10 ratio was more rare but I'm not sure they're that wanted.
