68 CHARGER FRONT DOOR GLASS TOO TIGHT

I have a 68 charger and I am replacing the front passenger door glass. When I slip it in the vent window frame it is very tight. The new glass is about .010" thicker than the glass that was in it. Should I file a little material off of the plastic clips that hold the felt piece to the glass or is there another trick I could try. Also what is the best lubricant to use so the window rolls up and down easy?
