I voted for a rematch of Superbowl XLII.   :2thumbs:  G-men will beat the Pats again.

I'd like a Jim and John Harbaugh Superbowl, but the Patriots looked scary against Denver. So I think the 49ers versus the Pats.

Yep if it ends up that way & has to be a rematch between Pats & Giants  :brickwall:, I will route for the Giants, I'd rather not see either of them, but if I had to choose between the 2 teams, Giants would be it... Reluctantly  :shruggy:

Yep I'm kind of in the same boat, after my Raiders got knocked out of even getting into the play offs, I kind of lost most of my interest, but my old Pops loves them 49er's, so I will route them on now...

As much as I dislike the pats, I'm gonna say them vs the 49ers.

Well, the NFL got the matchup they wanted. Too bad the 49er's lost because of a brain cramp. Kyle Williams is going to have a loooonnnnng off season.

Good luck to whichever team you're still rooting for. I'll be watching hockey, and working on rotissere baseball rankings....  :RantExplode:

Sure about that? as a commenter on Deadspin pointed out, they lost because they gave up on the running game after the first half and because their much vaunted defense couldnt come up with a single turnover and didnt have anything to stop Cruz. Same thing with the Ravens - theyll blame the kicker, "but the reality is that one of the best rushing teams ceded the turf to one of the worst. Or that they could only turn three New England turnovers into six points." And almost everyone seems to have forgotten about the touchdown that the Ravens receiver dropped right before regulation.

As for the Super Bowl? We'd all like to think that the Pats are the better team, but then again, the Packers and the niners were both "the better team" and the Giants took them down. The Pats defense is horrendous, so Brady and Co. better come out ready to shock and awe if they expect to win. This one is too close to call IMHO, but if the Giants win, it shouldn't be called an upset.

Giants defense this season was nothing to write home about either. 23rd overall.

As for the Pats game, they loaded up to stop the run and they did it, at least in the first half. Ray Rice had 33 yards ay half time. Yeah, they had a bit more success in the 2nd half but that's not unusual in general as defenses start to tire.

Oh, and I dont care what happened yesterday, Joe Flacco still sucks.

As much as that deadspin commentator maybe correct, most in the media and the fans will simply put the blame on the last guy that fails to produce.  :shruggy:

The Pats defense has sucked all year, yet somehow they still win, and it's not just a few wins either.  So who knows. Everyone thinks Tebow is the lions loins but his numbers blow too. Maybe the way the numbers are calculated is wrong.  :slap:

The word on the AM sports radio here was that this happened to Williams in college just a few years ago where he fumbled a punt return and cost his team the game.  Its a shame the press has to find a patsy to blame a loss on.  One could also blame it on Smith and their Offensive Coordinator for not putting together a good enough passing attack.  In the end, someone always has to lose.  There doesn't have to be a specific reason, it is a team sport.

Yep it's a team sport for sure, there is many issues that lead to a win or loss, but those 2 mistakes turned the game towards NY favor, both ended in scores/field goals 10 points that may not have happened, with out the stupid mistakes...

True.  One could also argue that the only San Fran passing game/threat they put together were two big plays to Vernon Davis that resulted in their two touchdowns and were otherwise not a threat offensively.
