Sometimes I wonder too... Next we will hear about how the twits didn't keep them under control, they escaped, and are now killing off the ants that serve a useful purpose. See Gypsy Moths.. (well, minus the genetic wizardry anyhow)

I'm thinking first Monsanto will patent the DNA of the existing natural ants.  Then they will infect the natural ants with a modified gene that renders them sterile so they die out within a generation or two.  The company will also be allowed to confiscate any privately owned farms that are found to have natural ants living on them.  Once all this stuff is done they can make everyone buy their super-ants as replacements . . .  and THEN the unforeseen problems with the super-ants will start showing up.
