Barrett-Jackson/Scottsdale 2012 Official Thread - AUCTION OVER! LISTINGS CURRENT

I think you have to be there to be sure what the condition really is. Just because they say it is completely restored doesn't tell you how good of a job it really was. I'm sure a few details here and there held it back. That 74 small block car went for 30 but they kept saying how good of a job that was done on it. I went to a mecham auction a while back and some small details like leaving a mirror on and painting around it or window fuzzy weren't replaced.....gauges bezels were painted and not rechromed etc

only 35 for an rt 70 charger?

That Burnt Orange, numbers matching '70!?  Holy crap, that's a screaming deal!  That's at least a $15-20k discount from the rest of reality.

that was my thoughts!! real numbers matching 70 roadrunner 6 pk car for 37k? that was crazy.
i live in CHARGERLAND.. visitors welcome. 166 total, 7 still around

You guys see that '70 Roadrunner drag car? $14,000. I thought that was a steal. That just bought the engine probably.

I've been recording the show and watching them them next day, so I caught up last night with the 70' R/T  :2thumbs: :coolgleamA:..... thought it would go for more and wish they spent more time showing the inside, seemed to be a very quick view during the auction.
they are really pushing the plugs with showing the GL from a few years ago and then the long commercial of "LEE - 1"....will be interesting to watch, but would like (like most of you) to see more of the "restoration" process taken.  wonder who will drive this one up the ramp???   :scratchchin:

I would have thought this years BJ would bring higher prices.  Kind of surprised on some of them.  Good for the people who want to buy.

yep, agree on the deals, but 220,000 for the 68 mustang elinore look a like? that was nuts.

I'm wondering if the white Superbird was the same one that I seen sell at Mecams a coupe months ago for like 137K. It sold today for 200K  :scratchchin:

Bout time some of those inflated prices came back to reallity. Maybe now only the true enthusiatsts will be restoring these cars, because now it isn't considered "Wise". Just like it was when I got into it. It wasn't very "Wise" to invest money into just another old car back then. Get rid of all these flippers looking to crawl into the hobby and make a killing then leave as quickly as they showed up leaving a wake of BS, inflated prices in their wake. "Wall-Streeters" beware, go back to the Mustanks and Genero's if you wanna make big bucks.

Some cars are getting more than others.   The early cars traditionally get less, and the Friday night / Saturday ones get more.
