build is procharged 470 around 750 hp. I say affordable and a build like this obviously is expensive but Im trying to save a little here and there. I was wondering if theres an affordable efi system(blow thru) I could get compared to the cost of a blow thru carb and at what a ball park cost would it be? I know its a far fetched question but I want to weight my options.

Unless you build your own as I am, the cheapest PORT F.I. set up I've seen that is "Turn Key" (Computer, and everything), will run you around $2500.00....

There are NO F.I. intakes for the BB Chrysler except the Edelbrock unit and that set up is around $4K....

I'm currently working on a Ford EEC-IV system for my 440. Will run a palin 'ol Torker Eddy intake drilled for inj. bosses. I hope to have this system on and functioning for around $1K...Will take a while though, as I'm gathering pieces here and there. Good luck, and if you run up on a systyem that's cheaper post it here please.

I have the Fast Efi system.  http://www.fuelairspark.com/Products/details/xfi/benefits.asp
One of the biggest advantages of most all efi systems is not only managing the fuel but possibly more important, managaing the timing and dialing in your specific timing curve.  This not only builds power but can also prevents potential engine damage.
It is not an inexpensive system

I used the standard Victor intake which is drilled for the injectors.

I beleive that megasquirt would be your most inexpensive system from the computer controller system
But there will be a learning curve there.

You will need a boost referenced regulator
This is the one I used

If you're ok with some homework, you can have any competent machinist install injector bungs in any manifold you like. You can buy fuel bungs, rails, snubbers, etc. from many sources-I like Electromotive-

http://www.electromotive-inc.com/efi_parts.html

You can use any old carburetor for a throttle body or buy TBs anywhere, unless you want to pressurize the TB.

The least expensive EFI drivers are Megasquirt; but you have to do all the work yourself.

You can find some spectacular deals on ebay if you wait long enough, but most people don't want used/unknown bits.

Megasquirt is a really nice system believe it or not...   then new MSIII has full sequential control like all the big names do - setting it up really is not as bad as some make it out to be...     boost referenced, full timing, full fuel, adaptable - also very easy to make is a DIS system with the EDIS Ford stuff or with LS1/2 coils - When I was making my EFI system I used 36-1 wheel, machined it and mounted it on the crank pulley - then make a simple bracket to mount the trigger - total investment was like $23.00 for a crank trigger system that has been proven on millions of Ford products.  :2thumbs:

Fantastic info guys! thanks so much for all the info and links. I find nothing wrong with a carb but the benefits of going efi I feel will be the ticket if I can manage the cost. the build im going with is going to tax me bad. I wish I had just got it on the road to enjoy and add a little hear and there now shes all in pieces.... :'(

I used an SDSEFI computer  it comes with a handheld controller do you do not need a laptop & you can adjust it while driving .
As stated above the Eddy victor intake is available predrilled & including rails for a reasonable price

I have around $2500+ into my EZ-EFI set-up.  That includes building my own lines and upgrading to a Weldon A-600A pump.

is it cheaper to get an intake drilled for injectors and then buy all 8 injectors or just get a throttle body for the intake you have??

Well, from what Little I understand so far, it is better for fuel distribution to run Sequential injection (Fires injectors by firing order), than to run a simple "Nothing but a carb with Fuel Injectors" throttle Body...

Sequential or batch, does little; the difference is having one injector per port, that makes distribution better. Sequential just helps emissions a little at idle. Throttle bodies are as good as the manifold they're on.
