Question for you.  Which side is the radiator inlet (top) supposed to be on?  Drivers Side?  Or passenger side?  On the 70 Registry site, in the engine photos section, there appears to be both configurations?

I have a 1970 Charger R/T 440 auto trans (not a six pack).  It also has a 22" cradle opening and no air conditioning.   Yes, that's right.  A 22" core rad on a 440 car (from the factory).

It appears as though the six pack is on the drivers side where the 426 is on the passenger side.

Any recommendations as to who a decent rad provider is for a copper / stock appearing rad?

I have had 2 six pack cars with 22" rads.

That is what you got with no axle package.

Going to have to check but I can tell you the bottom hose should be on the drivers side....unless you have a later water pump installed.

The 426 (26" rad only) and 440-6 with 26" rad got the same radiator

I found these comments from Chryco-Psycho on the Cuda-Challenger website.
Quotethe early production Challs had the upper rad hose on the left side above the lower hose , approx 3 months into production the rad switched to the upper rad hose connecting on the right side of the rad forcing the rad to cross flow , it should cool better with the cross flow later rad , mine was an Aug built car & has the early left side rad as original equipment

I think rads for the Challys and Chargeers were the same.  Chrysler did a lot of strange stuff back then.  I have a June 1970 production date so mine probably came with the upper rad hose on the passenger side.  (better cross flow cooling)
The part number of the rad according to the parts catalog is 2998957 (core number 2998960).

If it's any help my 71 r/t charger has the upper hose on the drivers side, 22" radiator, Core #  is  2998 960, pretty sure it's the original. Not sure on production date but the matching # block has a date code of 10 15 70.

a 2998957 and a 2998960 are two different radiators

957 = 1970 B and E body - 22" 383-2 BBL  Auto

960 = 1970 B and E body - 22" 383-4 BBL and 440  Auto

The 960 in 71 is 3443960  =    1971 B and E body - 26" 383-4 BBL and 440  Auto with A/C

Here is a pic of a later build 70 440-6 'Cuda with a 22" rad

Here is a pic of a 71 'Cuda   440-6, 22" rad. Again - hose is on the drivers side - same as the 70 pic above. B and E body used the same rads. This one is a 3443938

Close-up of the 70 show it as 2998960
