Does anyone know if the rubber gasket on a 69 charger Top fuel cap can be replaced replaced? The one I have is cracked...

I believe it can be replaced, although I've never done it. What I would do is try prying that center metal bulbous piece off and get to it that way. There's no other way that can be assembled other than a press fit onto something else so I believe once that piece is out of the way you should be able to get to the rubber.

Once it's out though you'll probably have to make your own replacement part. I've never seen one of those for sale.

I can make the gasket but not sure how you'd get the cap apart. have had 2 people ask me about this recently.

BTW, Detroit Muscle Tech has the trim ring base and tube to body gasket. They would be a good one to check with for that rubber gasket.

Is the gasket pinched between the parts when the cap is swaged together when it was made? Or can it be streched and slipped into place?

Anyone every take one apart?
