Is the priced based on the fact that its original?

I ask becuase I saw a 69 (non original) with a 440 rebuilt engine redone for 14k in running condition and the body was no rust and repainted to be the "general Lee'  :icon_smile_big:

It is crazy what has happened to the "buy-in" cost of these cars. I bought my RUNNING 318 '70 Charger in March 2000 for $1700. Yeah, I bought it cheap, but by 2003, they were  climbing in value real fast.

the money is in a car you can put tires belts and hoses on and drive. minimal rust and clean body. drive now paint later. try to get it for 10 and cruise it now.

I think his asking price is not bad, at least it isn't like some of the crack heads.

If he wants 13.5K you might be able to get it for 12 something.

I was thinking 10k myself since it needs tires and belts. Based on what he saids though im sure there are other stuff that needs major attention to.

What got me was that he let it sit for 13 years so im assuming the gas tank is bad, but yet said he was able to start it???? am I assuming? Dont want to waste his time.

It had to do with that crazy movie FAST AND FURIOUS just because he had a 70 charger in there everyone then had to get a 70 charger and live their life  a quarter mile at a time  ::). I agree I remember chargers not costing that much until that damn movie came out. Now everyone tells the buyer "its a charger they increase in value over time'  ::)

I have noticed that whenever I post on these WIW threads early, I'm high, but I'm a little bit low on this one.  I'm thinking max $10k.  If I were you, I'd start at $8k.

I think thats where im gonna start at 8k see what he saids and then ask about the gas tank etc.

I purcahsed a '68 Charger in Arizona for 9K two years ago, that was a rolling basket case.  It had a desert western body, new engine, new tranny, and some of the parts to re-assemble.  It was my first Charger, and I believe now that I over paid for it.  I had a friend check it out, and I don't think that helped...  Anyway, after two years, I have re-assembled most of it, and have driven it a couple of times, but there is still a lot of work to do... A LOT!

I think 13K for this car is a fair asking price, and of course I would try to get it for less, but knowing what I have in my car now, I would by the 13K if he wouldn't come down.  Shoot, I'd buy it now, if I could!

I say go for it, I think it's a fair price.

Dino

I'd say that's a fair price.  Offer him $11K and see where it goes.  Unless he's hiding something I'd likely pay the $13.5K, it's a nice car.
