I joined in like Julyish of last year, and just haven't made it by here much since. I reconize a few people on here.  :icon_smile_big:

Name is Mike, or go by 'Goody', im 18....(last name is Goodman). I have a 1972 Barracuda, its my only car right now, so its my daily...to and fro work, rain or shine. Has a rebuilt 318/904, and a rebuilt clutch suregrip in the 8 3/4. Pretty stout little 'teen, I'm somewhat confident that with a couple mods, one being a shift kit/manual valve body, another maybe slicks...that i should be able to get my 318 to crack into the 13s after some tuning and tweaking. Elevation here is 2000ft so im not sure if i can get low enough up here to make it into 13s...we shall see  :yesnod:

Plenty of pics on my site (link in sig). I'm looking to get another mopar shortly...73 Slant6 duster. So i can drive that daily and get decent mileage on the freeway to work. (FYI - 3.91s do suck on the freeway, dont put them in, then get a job that you have to commute to, your wallet will suffer  :smilielol:)

I'm on Moparts, Cuda-Challenger, and DomesticDisturbance.us under the same name.

I'll be tryin to hang around here some more, so i'll see ya around  :icon_smile_big:

haha, remember makin a few 'shorty' mopars

Yep, the 318 has been running for a little while now. Runnin strong too (*knock on wood*). Just had the 904 rebuilt, trans shop wouldnt waranty a shift kit, its up in 3months. So probably before mats ill get a manual vb in there and run it down the track a couple times. A low gear set was put in, while it was being rebuilt. Traction is definately an issue if i even roll on the throttle on the street, yes i know how bad can it be for a 318? but it has come cooper cobra 275/60/15s and it will break em loose at about 30mph  :yesnod:  If i can aquire some slicks and that valve body, i think 13s will be damn close...with the 2000ft elevation it may only be able to factor out to a 13 with the sea level 'correction'  ::) so we shall see

you should grab a set of plain old steelies and throw some dot slicks on them.  Paint 'em black and they would go nice with your wheels.

last set of steelies I picked up cost me 40  bucks for the set and a used set of dot's were 50 bucks.   15x8.  I measured them at 9" wide, but I don't think there was a stock steelie that was 9"? anyway.

well sorry but I should rephraze my comment...you CAN get it in 13's ya...but by the time you get that 318 in 13's mightve as well spent bucks on 440 or at least build up 383, or even better make 452 stroker out of that 383. but its up to you, your money. Im just trying to give you good suggestion. And in the end car will be worth more with 440 than 318

I actually do have plans for a big block..ill be getting a block in march actually. But the motor has been built, and i have a goal for it. I have about $3000 in the entire drivetrain..rebuilt motor, rebuilt trans, and then the 8 3/4 3rd member. The drivetrain will go in the next mopar i get, when i go big block in the 'Cuda...so any money i do still spend on it, ill still use.
