KPRC-TV has a story about a man who was arrested in the shower after police clocked him going more than 110 mph on the West Loop near Woodway about 3 a.m. Friday.

When Houston police officers tried to pull him over, he led them onto the North Loop, the Eastex Freeway and Beltway 8, according to Channel 2.

At one point during the chase, the man was going more than 120 miles an hour in his "Dukes of Hazard" style orange Dodge Charger, authorities said.

The man got off the Beltway and turned into an apartment complex. Officers used his license plate to track the man down to his apartment, where they found him in the shower after his girlfriend answered the door.

According to HPD, the man told them he did not stop because he had marijuana and did not want to lose his car.

He now faces felony evading and marijuana possession charges.

No one was hurt in the incident, but the man's car was impounded, the station reported.

Yeah because OBVIOUSLY it was ageneral lee........from reading the report I'll wager it wasn't even a '69, but they used the word "dukes" in the story so you use it troll the board, nice........

and for the record, though my '69 may eventualy become a general lee, I have never used, nor will I ever use, marijuana or any other illegal drug.

Quoteand for the record, though my '69 may eventualy become a general lee, I have never used, nor will I ever use, marijuana or any other illegal drug.

People who stereo type need a new hobby.

The mythical Dukes were moonshine runners who broke numerous traffic laws, and as much as the show romanticized it, 'shine is pretty much yesterdays (and still today's) equivalent to illegal drugs like MJ. Hence my attempt at a humorous reference to typical GL Owner.

I would never seriously stereo type anyone with harmful intent. I might mono keyboard them though.

So if you can find the right Houston impound yard you might be able to score a GL for the price of towing/storage. :2thumbs:

I can understand the getting arrested part... but I don't understand why the car was impounded if it was at his residence after the fact.    Unless he left the weed in the car  :shruggy:

Reminds me of friend's stories that ran away from a drunken crash and ran home and started slogging drinks in front of the cops who showed up at the door to investigate to throw off the breathalizer tests and such.

Starting to see impound clauses added to speeding laws.  It happens here in Ontario and I think Ohio is on that program too.
