I have a 440 motor casting 2536430-8 with a 10-28-69 Date.  The serial number pad is blank and the pad by the distributor is blank. Does this mean it is a warranty replacement block ?

I think even a bare block should have something on the top pad.

Do the milling marks look original in both spots?

Here are pictures of the 2 areas

I won't be wronged, I wont be Insulted and I wont be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to others, and I require the same from them.

Well - The VIN pad appears to have the original milling marks....best I can tell from the pic. If that is true then I would say it's a warranty or parts dept. block. The top pad looks very rusted/bumpy - can't see the milling marks there....I bet there were numbers there...
