pring is finally upon us, and the MoPowered Tour only a few months away.  Here is the latest updates on what all is going on!

You can see we have a lot going on.

This year I have double checked the morning stops actually exist and are open for breakfast!  Dinner stops are just cool suggestions, they sound interesting.  I hope to hit up every one and have a blast.

Dave Ferro and his crew from Totally Auto (www.totallyautoinc.com) will be joining us just after the start of the Tour, bringing along his awesome Hemi Barracuda.

We're working out details for Detroit and Muskegon.  Will keep you updated.

The VerHage Auto Museum is opening their doors to the Tour again on Monday.  Definitely a cool place to see with all their vintage Mopar metal.

The busy day is Tuesday with two stops.  After you check in at Mid-America, head on over to the Flat landers Motor Club (Mopar Guys) less then a mile away. It will have food, entertainment and shop tours with a bunch of very rare Mopars.  Some seen in recent MCG issues, including the Richard Petty 64 Plymouth Tribute race car.  After that we are heading to Performance Plus, famous Mopar engine and Mopar restoration business.  Their 71 Hemi Cuda Convertible Tribute recently attended SEMA and appeared on SpikeTV's PowerBlock as well as attending the MCACN show..  We stopped there in 2010 and it was a blast.

Going from St. Louis to Miami is a mad dash across Missouri.  It can take almost 6 hours.  So instead of a stop during the route, afterwards we can all meetup at the cool vintage Waylan's KuKu Drive-in.

From Miami to Stillwater there is Kirk Auto Museum in Ripley, OK that has a bunch of awesome old muscle cars and race cars.

There is a lunch stop at Covercraft on the portion between Stillwater, Ok and Arlington, TX.

After the Long Haulers get together on Saturday, all MoPowered Tour participants are invited to Monster Mopar Weekend @ Gateway Int. Raceway (http://monstermopar.com/spring-fling-st-louis-mo/).  It is FREE entry Sunday to any MoPowered Tour Participants with the MoPowered Tour sticker on their car.

A group of MoPowered Tour cars will be traveling together there after the Long Haul Ceremony with a overnight stop in either Springfield, MO or Rolla, MO.

Don't forget to sign up by emailing us at

I lived in Stillwater, OK some yrs ago for some number of yrs.  The BBQ is equal to 90% joints out there in my opinion, its ok but might consider a memorable road trip location.  Eskimo Joes is "oooh world famous" :nana: bar/dinner next to OSU campus and arguably has great atmosphere with free plastic cups and full gift shop with food doing the burgers, dogs, salads,    expect a "dinner" level food thing, including good home made cheese fries.  Scope out their site.  I am all about eating at cool places on road trips and it would not be that planned BBQ location :Twocents:  I hope to go over there that day, if so, I will be at Joe's.

I will have to see about this place in Stillwater.  Looks cool.

Here is a more detailed breakdown on the two incredible Mopar stops on Day Four going from Champaign to Gateway Int. Raceway.

We start off at Mary-Ann's Diner, 1510 S Neil St, Champaign, IL 61820.  We will leave the diner at 7:30.  Get to the diner at whatever time you feel comfortable as to leave by 7:30.  It should take us about 2 hours to get to Mid-America.

After you check in at Mid-America, DO NOT EAT THERE!!!!!!  Head right around the corner, it is the first Mopar stop at the Flatland Motor Club (All Mopar Guys) 804 East Rickleman Ave, Effingham, IL 62401.  There will be a bunch of Mopars there including the tribute 64 Petty Race car with real Petty Hemi engine, recently seen in Mopar Collectors Guide.  Also there will be shop tours, running Hemi's on stands and much more.  Do not follow your GPS, it will take you to the wrong place.  There is a map attached to this email to follow.

THERE IS FREE FOOD at the Flatland Motor Club , so DO NOT EAT at Mid-America.

We will be leaving there at 12:00 to head over to Performance Plus, 1511 U.S. Hwy 50 west, Odin,IL 62870.  A Mopar restoration shop.  They will have a group of awe inspiring Mopars, including the famous 71 Hemi Cuda Convertible tribute that has won numerous awards, been to SEMA, MCACN, and even appeared on SpikeTV's Power Block with Courtney Hansen.

We will leave Performance Plus at 2:30 to get to Gateway Int. Raceway with time to check in and go through the show.  We want to try to get a good line of Mopars coming into Gateway and get video of us rolling in together for MoprTV.

Afterwards some of us will be heading to, Pappy's Smokehouse, 3106 Olive St. St Louis, MO 63103.  It sounds like a interesting place and the reviews for it are good.  This is just a suggestion and by no means a requirement.

Wow, can you believe that is two weeks til we will be in Detroit!

Mopar Collectors Guide put the word out about the Tour.  So we had a good jump in participation.  This is the largest MoPowered Tour to date!

Ryan Brutt with the Blue 09 Challenger R/T Classic will be getting into Detroit on Friday.  Keep an eye out for it and the large goliath in the brown fedora hat.

We have decided to stick with the original Bad Brad's BBQ in Stillwater.  Heard good things about it.  Also we have a participant that actually works for Kicker who is going to see us there.

Dave Ferro and the Totally Auto crew is going to be joining in probably in Champaign.  His daughter is graduating.  If there is any reason to miss the MoPowered Tour, can't get much better then that.  Congratulations to her and the family!  Www.totallyautoinc.com

We just downloaded a new texting program called "GroupMe".  We are working on how this works to mass text everyone.  Currently we will only be texting in case of emergencies.  But that might change.

Also we will have a 2-way radio in the lead vehicle if you want to have one.

Here is the breakdown again of the whole weeks activities.

Not to derail the thread or get off topic but...by the way, I will be doing all of this driving (6,500 miles) with my RMS Alterkation front end. I've noticed all the talk on the different Mopar boards regarding the potential "concerns" of this unit when used in a street application. I'll probably be doing some autocross on the trip as well. My RMS is stock. I haven't modified any of the areas some people are concerned with. I'm expecting to report back good results at the end of the trip because since this car has been built I've never had a problem with it.

6500 miles...in a 72...

I don't care what suspension or seats you have, that's one hell of a roadtrip!  I know you don't need your butt to play guitar but damn!

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

I'm still planning on hooking up in Detroit and join the tour up Muskegon as I have to work the next day.  That means I better not screw up the instrument panel this week or no power tour for me!
