Okay, I got a rant here. Now you all know that I mostly don't do this to often but I want to get this off my chest though. I don't mind suggestions or anything, to be honest I'm always open to them really. But something the other day was said to me.. to me that got me thinking about other follow forum members an threads on here.

The suggestion started in my thread in the Other topics just under the All Chargers stuff area.. in my thread about Model Vehicles. Someone complain about me posting to many photographs in one thread, BUT yet if you think back, there also has been other threads buy other forum members that have alot an I mean ALOT of photos posted by one person an yet these people doesn't ever get told to maybe post one photo an then post a link to the other photos. No... It's always me.. well I would like to see for now on these people also get told the same as me OR else don't say it to me either, as I am tired of it anymore. I see an seen alot of threads on here by follow forum members with a ton of photos in them an yet they don't get complained about the # of photos.. it's always me  :icon_smile_angry: :brickwall: .

I know afew threads on the forum here from other follow members that has alot of photos in them, an yes I have went through them over time an I have yet seen anywhere where anyone made a comment about maybe posting one photo an then adding link to the other photos.. WHY wasn't this said to those thread starters in there threads also?

But what cracks me up is this, in my one thread in the one area, I even put a "warning" in the subject line also to warn people with dial up an what not so they knew OR know there is alot of photos in the thread they are about to click on or go into. Yet some folks I guess doesn't take the time to read the subject line an just ignore it (or else they would have seen the warning part) an click on the thread an then want to complain . I'm sorry to any out there that might have had there PC's freeze up on them because they didn't take time to read the warning part on/in the thread title. So who's fault is that? sure as heck not mine. It seems now days people doesn't want to take the time to read stuff or are just to dang lazy to read the stuff an then want to complain after wards.

Also when I said afew other threads had alot of photos in them, one of the threads I am talking about is in the Charger stuff area, it is a many page thread.. Plus there is also another thread in that same area that is also another many page thread with lots of photos in.

Now, I don't want to people to start replying with "what did he say?" or "I'm not reading all that".

If you want to know what I said, read the dang thing here, then you will know what I said.

Try reverse psychology. Instead of warning people that you have too many photos, start with an apology for not having enough of them.  :2thumbs:

Unless Troy or a mod tells you there's a problem, don't worry about it.  :Twocents:

Ummm...you do it like every 2 weeks dude.  :brickwall:

You were lucky enough to have one person actually post in your thread (Bill Alphin: Great Guy BTW). He made a "suggestion" to you about how many photos you have on the thread, and this is what morphs from it? Geez man, get over yourself and your over inflated ego already. You are not as important as you think you are.

Troy probably won't tell you there's a problem BUT each one of those pics you post (or anyone else posts for that matter)costs Troy money.  Its called Bandwidth which Troy pays for each month out of HIS pocket.

In that thread alone I counted at least 9 pics with your gnarly fingers holding what looks like a broken up dashboard....1 pic would have been sufficient

6 pics of the Exotic Bamboo wood flooring you made showing each slat being put in....do you think we wouldn't believe you that there wasn't really Exotic Bamboo on that floor when you pulled it out of the box?

No one is telling you you can't post pics....just condense the pics into groups or categories and post a link coinciding to each category.

So if someone is suggesting that you post a link to "further" pics of the wood floor its because they might be thinking of what it takes to run this forum and not to take advantage of it. Remember like Chris G. said its not all about you....

Oh... :Twocents:

Inflated ego? my ego has nothing to do with it. Look at how many forum members is on this forum... look at how many post's an post's photos.. yet you fail to see my whole point. I am always the one being told or suggested to only one "afew" when others can post lot's an not even be told or "have" a suggestion to them. Always me. Yet you want to throw "inflated ego" in my face.
I haven't been on this forum for alittle while, the last I posted was around 3 weeks ago. I got tired of people an left for alittle while..

I guess I struck a nerve with you because of your friend an his issue with photos I post I guess.

Long as I been a member on this forum (over 3 years) I seen alot of people posting an what not an yet I'm always the one getting the suggestions about stuff when the others doesn't.

Just so you know, I don't know your friend Bill to much or very much at all, only from on the forum here, so I will not cut him down really. I told him in the other thread of which you all can read what I posted back to his suggestion if you all would like by going to that thread (I will not post a link, as I don't want to inflate my ego   :smilielol:) nothing bad at all I said to him either.

Just so you all know what was said. Here is the quotes

I counted 210 photos

Please do make any suggestion, I'm always open to them.

Why not just post a link? well some people are just to darn lazy to click on a link. So why not just post the photo on the forum instead.. that is what the forum is about, posting an sharing stuff an photos.

A- because everytime someone opens this thread they have to download EVERY photo And WILL slow down there PC if not lock it up.

B - if they don't click the link - then they don't want to see the picture

I will answer both your question's with one answer..

QuoteModel Vehicles (Dail up users, beware!)

You see, I put a warning to folks in the thread Title as well when I made the thread here.

But on the last two quotes between me an him, I notice something. He said "B". Now if they (anyone in general) don't want to see photos then why click on the thread title to begin with? He just criss cross himself I believe.

Yes I do have two threads, one is for older projects.. it has many links it. But the thing is this, even going to those folders it will slow down a person's pc an also freeze it up to for when the photos loads up. Just like irt would do if the photos was posted here on the forum in the other thread as well. So you see, the same issue will still be there, in one location or the other an what I mean by that, if photos are in one thread the issue with freezing up will be there, an if you have to click on a link the issue will be there as well with the freezing up issue for people that has it with there pc's.  :shruggy:

But I do recall him doing the same thing to me afew times before also, and now again. and I keep telling him the same I belive.

But what gets me is, others can post "lot's" of photos in there own threads on the forum here an yet they don't get complained at about there number of photos they post.. mostly always me. After so long it can get alittle boring an tiresome if you know what I mean when other's doesn't get told the same thing an they post lot's of photos at times also not just me. Please, if posting lot's of photos slows your pc down or freezes it up, I'm shore there is other threads that does to your pc as well, tell the thread starters an not just one all the time.

Anymore I'm starting to not even post on the forum here as I'm tired of it...

You all have a nice day.. or night.

Hi Chris, Even though your a mod of this site, I will treat you just like a member is just like I am. Thank you for coming out an explaining it. You made more sense then the other Chris did. Askly, he kinda offended me. For now on I will either post one photo OR no photos at all. That should make everyone happy enough an with no photos Troy doesn't have to worry about me costing him money either. Plus one thing Chris, Chris G made a personal stab at me with the "Inflated ego" remark when I was being nice an didn't slam anyone really but was wondering why others never get told the stuff I always do. So you see, with what Chris said to me, he in fact made it about me. You on the other hand, didn't make it all about me but also about the forum here.

Now to answer to your question about the wooden floor, I'm on afew forums, an people mostly ask's me to post more photos as they like seeing them as they enjoy them. Some of the folks doesn't believe it about the wood an think it's part of the kit stuff an have questioned me on it. Lot of the times people are to lazy to click on a link, or can't get them working an ask me to post more photos, so I post the photos to help the people out. Plus so you know, that is not bamboo wood.

He mention my narly finger nails, BUT you mention "ego" which if you know ego is much much bigger then a finger nail comment stab. You came at me personaly with your comment bud about "ego".. an you even threw it in my face too. I never one time mention anything about ego's in any of my reply's or post's. Your the one that made your reply's personal.. not me. Plus Chris explained very well to about the forum as well where as you didn't.

I only said about leaving maybe 2 times if that, not time an time again like you say. Plus for the recor, I'm not trying to or am begging ANYONE to get me to stay. So please stop putting words into my mouth. plus just so you know, I'm not the running type, so I'm not as you would say "bolting". When you say less is more... okay why not just don't post at all.. that would be more... right?  :-\

Then if we all started posting less an less, where would the forum be at? . You see, everything has a down side, if you go over the middle, there is a down side even to the good stuff too . It's just people well some people on this site likes to complain is all I guess AFTER they enter the thread.. and oh I love this one, ones that even has a warn label on it's title  :smilielol:

Chuck, ego is a person soul (a very big part), that is personal. Finger nail is a person body part (little part) . There is a big differences in the two.

Even when I don't post photos an just reply in a thread or make a thread, I still get slam. The thing is I notice it's kinda the same people.

Geez, really? You made a thread about this? I would suggest not taking everything so personally (and I believe that suggestion has been made many times).

As for pictures, I post as many as 200 pictures in some threads. Not a big deal. Yes, it sucks up server space and bandwidth but, after the last upgrade, we're running at about 10% capacity and it costs me the same until we go over the limit. And Chris, if no one views the thread then no bandwidth is used - ie Skippy could post 100 pics and the server load would never change... :P

The warning to other members is nice because some browsers can't handle lots of images on a single page. Some people may still be on a slow internet connection as well and it could take a while for everything to appear on their screen.

I'm more annoyed by people posting the same picture 100 times (different threads, different names, etc.). That does eat up server resources unnecessarily.

Yes, Troy, a post about this..

I seen alot of threads that has lots an lots of photos on the forum here.. an yet I don't see anywhere in the bluemoon any suggestions made to those people. Always to me. I'm sick of it.

If you want to be annoyed by me, then by all means then be it man. But you didn't notice the differences either in the thread's by me. They might appear the same but if you an others looks more close, you will see they are in fact different though.

But it seems to me, that some forum members likes to go into a tread a try to tell the starter what to do.. as in control them kinda mostly. But lucky the word "suggestion" was used, that's why when people say "suggestion" I listen to them to hear what they have to say. I do listen to suggestions an always keep them in mind. It be like me going into Skip's thread or a thread of his an trying to tell him how to post. He would get upset probably about that pressly if I always told him in his threads what to do kinda. He probably would get tired of it after so long. Now if I said "Skip, I would like to make a suggestion" then he probably wouldn't get upset at me that time an more then likley listen to what I had to say to him. But seeing other people post lot's of photos an yet none of them get mention to them what always get mentions to me is what bugs me the most.  :brickwall:

Again, Jim, I'm not talking about photos. I'm talking about the things you post, the way you post them and your resonses to the replies.

Hey Bull, you want to talk about things I f-ing post? look at the at the stuff you post.. look at your replys to people also. Think before you reply man like your telling me.

Yup, here you go, as predicted. You ask for advice and then when you get the kind of advice you don't like, the kind that challenges your thought patterns and behavior, you become angry and start arguing. If you don't want advice, don't ask for it. Simple, really.
