Does anyone know did your Superbird come with the 12 bolts to hold down the valve covers or the 8 bolts + 4 studs and nuts or both on a regular 440 engine?  Engine question I know, just wanted to make it more Superbird specific.

big blocks would have come with the studs on the lower corners with the 7/16 nut whereas all the rest (4) would have been your generic 7/16 valve cover attach bolt.

And that is correct on most engines - that is what Engineering shows..........there have been some variations to the above. Best to go with what is found on your engine....but if it is all buggered-up - use the above.

Thanks guys.  I just got my engine back, putting it back together, but it had been rebuilt before once.  I seen a vendor's add for the new bolts or new bolts and studs and did not know which way to go.  Once again thanks.
