So I think this is a relay but I do not know what it is for and when I turn on my headlights it buzzes at me like a mini horn.  Anybody know what this is and how I can get it to stop making noise?   :brickwall: :brickwall:

70 hideaways headlight relay. Does your doors open and close ?

If buzzes is because is stuck, somehow.

If your headlight doors still work maybe the relay is ready to get broken. BUT maybe also with an internal mantenience can be saved

I think is just a manner of mantenience, cleaning points and stuff. Open the relay cover tabs and will be able to get the inners visible for service. Not warrantied will be the "fix" but why not try it ?

The bosh relay is a solution too, but as far the original still works why not try to service it! ?

I will for sure try to save the original! Thanks for the help!

If it continues to buzz after the headlight doors are open ,try unplugging the connection at the headlight motor and see if it stops.

yes, is posible, some points failure at motor could make that noise at the relay...

however, thinking it better, if some problem at motor is present, the breaker would jump out and cut the power, so I'm still toward to some dust, rust, or whatever stuff making the point tab vibrate what produces the buzzing

Update:  Tried all solutions present to salvage the old one and have concluded it can not be saved......  Ordered a new one and and will install later this week. In the mean time I put Wilwoods discs on the front of the car as well as xenon low beams. ( problem with buzzing was before and after the new light install). Thanks for all of your help guys!

I guess you got a repro one... its nice however the attaching bracket is not the same. BUT I guess you can fit the system of the new one on the original cap and bracket.

the other issue is the prongs to the headlight motor are positioned diff, both horizontal instead like a T, so plug need to be matched, being sure the open and close position. No need to cut wires just remove the terminals and fit them on the new plug normally provided with the repro relay

Unless you found a NOS one ? ( what a luck if you did LOL )
