This is the headline story for Drudge and some cable news.

I can not believe the behavior by many of these people, and over a pair of shoes nonetheless. If these people will act like this over a pair of shoes, how will they act if the grocery store shelves are empty or money cut off.

There is video of the many incidents in this link, their behavior is shameful. Of course, they probably do not think they did anything wrong.

I remember this happening when they came out in the 90's. Stupid to act like that over fricken shoes.  :rotz: Heard on our Vegas news our malls beefed up security and put more real cops in just incase.

Most of those people are there to make a buck not because they plan on waring them.
They are $180 shoes.

greed causes people to act this way.

BTW I get my shoes at costco for $15

Bought my boots over 7 years ago for 100.  Just now thinking about replacing them.  Why anyone would spend more money for shoes that last 1/5 of the time is beyond me.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

I know someone at work who's son "collects" sneakers. He told me he took him to a store a while back when some limited edition pair came out so he could get them. While they were waiting on line, his son talked to someone else & made a deal to sell him a pair of some other sneakers he had. I don't recall the amount, but he made a nice profit from selling them. The whole sneaker collecting thing seems dumb or odd, but I suppose it's no different than collecting anything else like dicast cars, baseball cards, etc. I know a lot of people who see rare old muscle cars as "old used cars" that are a waste of money.

I agree.  But I just can't remember the last time I read about near riots of fistfights over baseball cards or diecast cars... :shruggy: :shruggy:

You're right, I haven't heard about that kind of behavior either, but I posted more in response to what TheGhost was saying about not paying over a certain amount for shoes.

There are a-holes everywhere, though.

Well, shoes are like anything else people collect.  This story interested me because I collect Jordans, I have roughly 30 pair of them. I would probably have more, but I wear a size 14 and those are made in very limited quantities. I have a couple pair for everyday use, but like a old car, most do not come out of the box unless it is a nice sunny day. I guess I am goofy like that.  ;)

In the car hobby you hear about scams, friends screwing over friends, price gouging on cars AND parts, fraud, etc.

Some guy that collects sneakers probably thinks that paying $100 for a date correct dome light chrome trim piece for a 40 year old car is goofy as hell too...
