Hey guys!

It feels good to finally become a member of this forum.  I've been a "guest" for quite a while so decided to make it official.

My name is Scott (or Zach) and I live in the Houston, TX. area.  My best bud Troy Hawkes (hemi68charger) and I served in the military together (same Weapons shop here at Ellington Field) for about 10 years and even deployed to Iraq a couple of times.  I have to give Troy credit...I've never known a more dedicated, or knowledgeable, Mopar (Charger) enthusiast than him.   :notworthy:  Troy definitely makes owning a Charger much easier, and fun...Thanks buddy, I'm glad I can always count on you and you are always there with a helpful hand.   :2thumbs:

My car is a '69 R6 R/T, white interior, 440, originally, (now has a 528 Hemi from Muscle Motors).  It's an original 4-speed (non console) Dana car (3.54) but now has a 4.10.  It currently has a Passon Performance 4-speed O.D. that I am hoping to trade in on one of their new 5-speeds whenever they are available.  I've owned the Charger since 2001 when another good buddy, who owned it at the time, decided to sell it.  That friend John had owned the Charger since 1986.  It's a funny story but back in 1986 John and I were both teenagers living in St. Louis, and huge Mopar fans (but had always leaned towards Chargers).  Every week when the new "Trading Times" came out we were the first in line to grab one anxiously waiting to see what Mopar deals might be had.  This one particular week this Charger appeared in an ad and the owner was selling for $2000.  I didn't have any money to buy a car at the time but I still called John up that night to tell him about the Charger.  He in-turn informed me that he had already spoken to the owner and was negotiating a deal as we spoke!  John bought the Charger for $1500 that week.  John's dad (and family) was transferred to Phoenix later that year and that is where the Charger remained, and only racking up 5000 miles, until i bought it from him in 2001.  John passed away in 2007 so this Charger holds a very special place in my heart.  Nothing can replace the memories I have of John and I cruising in this Charger, back in the day, living the care-free lives of an 18 and 19 year old when the only thing that mattered (mostly!) was taking the Charger out and "dumping-that-clutch!"

I'll try to post some pics soon...

Yeapers... Good ole' Zach is here now.. Slacker !!!!  ( of course, I've known him long enough and "Hit the deck" with him plenty in Balad AB, Iraq to get away with ribbing him).. Scotty's got thick enough skin and can dish it out....... But, he always does it SOOO politely. They are the worst !!!

I'll get the picture ball rolling on the pictures...

I've driven the car myself, both with the 440 (that will eventually go in my 500) and his current Hemi.. All I can say is his '69 is the Sweetest running Mopar ( or any car for that matter ) I've ever driven...... It is MEAN yet has a smooth sophistication about it....  Make's me wanna get a Hemi for the Daytona....

Enjoy... I'll echo Scott. He loves his Charger and is a perfect example of a true gearhead who loves to drive his car...... Oh yeah, with Kim's help, he's directed me to a more full-filling Christian life (   ). I aim to be as good of a man as Scott... I just work on his Mopar-side...  :icon_smile_big:

Oh yeah.. Scotty.............. It's "hemi68charger"....   :nana: ........   I'm glad I don't go by that when I'm out and about in person..........  Ok, he fixed it...........  :)
