I just got this silly idea to sell the Wrangler and look for a Ram SRT10 quad cab. There are a few around, all with some miles on them. I guess the quad cabs were only made in 05 and 06? Any Ram SRT-10 owners on here? Do they have any known problems? Things to look out for?

gas mileage...     other than that they are fun trucks - don't own one but have worked on two...    the 4 doors are eh...     automatic only. I much prefer the single cab six speeds   :drool5:

My local Dodge dealer has this sweet SRT Ram for sale. Just drove by it a couple hours ago, very nice truck.

Went out and drove two of them today. One had 80k miles, the other had 64k miles. Both just used trucks with great big engines. Dings, dents and poorly kept. It amazes me how some people can buy these things new, pay over 50G's, and treat them like an every day truck. Dont want either one. Let me tell ya', they are fast!. Highway sprint from 70 to 100 was very quick. Just makes me want one even more. Got to find the right one, well kept and not too badly abused. Probably going to have to travel.

Had that one in my "saved vehicles" list. He has it on CL as well as Auto Trader. After work today I called the owner. Nice fella, he is a car guy  , he has had the truck since almost new, bought it with 1500 miles on it from a dealer in Michigan. He is in Mount Helix, CA. He put a Magnaflow exhaust on it and says it is loud. The SRT-10's I drove had stock exhaust and they were loud when you mash the loud pedal, other wise not so bad. He also put a DC Performance computer in it. Says it increased horse power, but not recommended to tow with it. He puts the stock computer back in to tow his jet ski's or quads. Truck looks really nice. Gotta talk the wife in to a road trip now.

I had one. Bought it new in 2004. It was a RC. Loved the thing. To this day I wish I held on to it. I traded it in on a Mercedes in 2008 with 20k miles on it. Truck was mint. Got hosed on trade in.

Just make sure the VIN isn't this: 3D3HA18H65G863136.  That's the VIN from my old 05 silver quad cab SRT-10.  It ate three transmissions in 13K miles.  Dodge bought it back from me back in 2007.  I will be buying another one but I'm going with the regular cab this time around.  Good luck in your search.

If I wasnt shipping out to the military and a far off land in the coming months I would be looking hard at buying an SRT10 ram - but oh well - I'll get one when I get back from Italy.   :2thumbs:

When my wife totaled her '03 Hemi Sport Ram 2wd couple months ago, the local dealership had an '05 10 luckily.

We bought it with 50,5k miles for $21,5k.  I had wanted one since they came out with the quad cab (automatics) & we almost bought one but the 401k I cashed out required a large chunk of taxes to be paid at the end of the year.
For the first time ever I bought an extended warranty for it with this rig.  They're not cheap to work on & this will give us a peace of mind for the 1st 3 years, then we can decide to keep it or...

They flat get with the program.  The first time I got on it, it immediately reminded me of my Charger that has the stroker hemi.

They're buyable right now cause no one wants a gas guzzler.  And guzzle gas it does.  I'm still not used to the sound of the V10.  That Craigslist one looks like a decent buy.  You won't find one cheaper with those miles I can tell you for sure.  The '05 road grime gray color is the least ordered color that year I've found, shocking.

The truck was suppose to be mine but my wife drove it to work a couple times.  Since I sold my 'cuda she said I could have it now.  I need to figure out how to put my wheelchair in the bed.  Currently the tonneau cover is in the way.  Ours has a functioning cold air hood.

You won't find an online site that has more 10s' for sale than this oodle site.

This one is in my drive way now. Just got home with it. It was a fun 350 mile drive home. It handles like a sports car, 500 HP Viper engine makes for some quick acceleration. Tomarow she gets a bath, mani, pedi, lol. Quick once over the brakes, under side, new air filter, etc., then some good pics.

Right on.  Welcome to the 10 Club.

I registered on this site.  http://www.vtcoa.com/forums/

This site is slow so I'm not on it much.  http://www.srt10forum.com/
I joined it back when we were looking at getting a new one.

There's also an SRT 10 Registry.  They may already have it on file like they did mine.  http://www.vipertruckregistry.com/

I made sure the overhead console isn't set to where it shows the average mpg.   ;)

I joined both of the sites as well. Just like on here, lots of helpfull people there too. Typical Mopar people.

The average economy was at 12.? MPG when I bought the truck. After the trip home it is back at 12 MPG again.  :icon_smile_big: That is mostly high way. Hell, if a vehicle gets better than 12, I dont want it.  :icon_smile_tongue:

So, what sort of trailer do you pull around with it?  An aluminum or steel?

I can pull 10K with it in stock trim, actually pulled #5,000 this summer and didn't even know it was there, mpg didn't go down either. I do find it most useful when there's 2-3ft of snow in my driveway and I have to get to work at 5a.m.
