Replacement rear speakers for '69 Charger?

I've been looking for a set of rear speakers for my '69 Charger in a 6x8 size -  I did find a universal set from Radio Shack that would fit 5x7 or 6x8 but they're rated at 4 ohms.      I was told some time ago that they would work, but recently I heard that they won't, as the output amp for the AM/8-Track I have expects 8 ohm speakers, and the impedence mismatch would eventually burn up the amp.....

Has anyone found a brand that uses 8 ohms in a 6x8?

Thanks!

I think you could find 8 ohm 6x9 speakers if you searched enough, but you could just buy adapter plates that fit 6.5" speakers that you can find in 8 ohm or just make some your self here's some on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/6x9-Speaker-adapter-plates-4-Honda-Civic-Accord-NR_W0QQitemZ8031899995QQcategoryZ38646QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Many replacement speakers now sold by the discount stores, auto parts stores and mail order houses labeled as "4 to 8 ohm compatible" are in fact 4 ohm speakers. These speakers can damage the older radios. 4 ohm speakers will measure around 3.2 ohms with a DC ohmmeter. An 8 - 10 ohm speaker will measure around 7.4 ohms with a DC ohmmeter.

I searched high and low for 8-10 ohms speakers and these guys are great.
