A very special flight today guys...

I operated from Ramstein, Germany to Baltimore, MD today.  Packed with 357 on board.  Of those, we had the last five guys to leave Iraq on board.  It was a very emotional flight.  Lots of press and fanfare when we entered the terminal.  It was quite a tear jerker seeing these folks hug their loved ones knowing they are home safe for Christmas.   

Keep those who aren't so lucky to be home in your thoughts this year.

Carl, I don't think we'll be out of the "Stans" anytime soon, unfortunatley.  Matter of fact, I fly a load of cargo that direction Christmas Day.  Just glad to have these guys on board and safe to see their families.  I've flown many flights into Dover, and to those who know, that's not a great place to bring troops back to.

Awesome stuff! My buddys sun-in-law came home two weeks ago to his wife and two young kids, Jessi (my buddys daughter) posted black and white pics of Andy in uniform carring his 3 year old daughter and five year old son walking away from the cammera. There is one of Jessi and Andy kissing (also in black and white). Those pics brought tears to my eyes. I have the utmost respect for all of you. Be safe and Merry Christmas!

Awesome experience Dave. Wish I could have been there. It is a pretty cool feeling, done it twice on my return flights from Iraq. The USO is an awesome organization that makes all of us servicemembers feel special.

Thanks for your work Dave. I know for a fact, when you're flying those soldiers home, it's one of the best feelings any of them will have and a memory that will last forever. I know I'll never forget my return trips...
