How did you pic the names of your kids?

My daughters name is Carlee Elizabeth. Carlee comes from my wife's grandmothers name (Carleen) and my Dads name (Lee) Elizabeth is my Moms middle name.

My boys name is Brian Christopher. Brian is my middle name and my wife's name is Christine (Chrissie).

I may be schizophrenic but at least I have us!

I don't have any kids but my parents chose my name and my sisters names from the bible.
Some of the names people are calling thier kids today I think are from a bad game of scrable.
I think you have chosen some sensible names for good reasons.
Kids have enought problems today without giving them a name other kids will make fun of because they don't understand.

Darkman

My Oldest Daughter (10), Daria Rose was named as a spin off from my name, a little bit of influence also from the show DARIA. Her middle name is a spin of from my wife's mum Ros (Rosalind). "Dar" in Croatian means "gift" and she was certainly our gift.

My middle child (Daughter aged 7), Ashlee Marie, was named because we liked the name Ashley, but wanted to spell it with "lee" as my wife's middle name is Lee. Marie is after my mum's name Maria

My son (aged 3.5), Deakin Nikola is also got his name from a name we liked no other reason. His middle name is my Dad's middle name. We were going to name him Deon after "Neon Deion Sanders" from the 49ers (and all the rest Atlanta, Dallas, Washington and Baltimore). He was my idol when I was watching the game and hoped my son had the same amount of "attitude", but we changed our mind literally a couple of weeks before my boy was born. He still has the attitude though  :icon_smile_big: and has a freakish ability for sports (and also isn't bad at throwing down some break dancing moves either!)
Make it idiot proof, and somebody will make a better idiot!

A group of my buddies and i got together and we came up with every name that was easily made fun of on the playground, then we crossed those off the list.

My son is Andrew James but we call him A.J. because I was a fan back then in the late 80's of the show "Simon and Simon" and one of the brothers was called A.J. and I liked the name. Can't remember the others name but he drove a real cool Dodge Power Wagon 4x4. Anyway, if he had been born a girl, his mother would have picked his name. She never got her chance as A.J. is an only child.

This thread reminds me of something  :scratchchin:

One day an Indian boy asked his father why they have such long names? The dad answers, "Well son whenever a Indian baby is born the father would go outside and name the baby after the first thing he sees... Why do you ask Two Dogs $@#&ing?"

A.J. drove a Corvette, Rick had the Power Wagon.
