1970Moparmann

I was at the Belvidere Happening at the Mopar plant around 1999 when I saw a 70 RT 6 Pack that was exactly like this car -

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/All-numbers-matching-1970-Dodge-Charger-R-T-440-6pack-/230712906852?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item35b78f9464

For an asking price of $11k.   I had my 69 RT and was trying like a maniac to sell it.  Just didn't work out.

The next one that really hurts is a Superbird that I looked at in Minneapolis in 2001.  I needed to finance $10k in order to get it and just didn't do it.  :brickwall:

"magnum charger", Why did you " I took the car for a spin and it performed unbelievably well! At least as good as or better than any 440 Sixpack I've driven."  "If you did not have any money to even buy it, why did you even waste his time ?  :shruggy:

Seriously?
The guy is letting people drive his car!!

I see. Well, I'm getting pretty tired of finger pointing on this website, and if this is how this is going to go I guess I've overstayed my welcome here.

Rough week? What's the issue?  :popcrn:

StoneCold

Well 20+ years ago I had the Canadian one showing on carsinbarns.com this week. I sold it and it showed up on Kijiji last winter with the body all done and in primer. Would loved to have had that back but no where to store until a time a restoration could have been done.

Not really regret but several years ago there was my dream car, a 70 6pk Charger RT,  but it was so horribly rusty that it sat funny. Sagging almost.... I had the money but there was no way that was going to work for me. I just wish it was in better shape. Any kind of starting point would have been a plus.

OldGuy

Back in 1969, I had just bought my 1968 R/T from a guy.  I drove past the Dodge Dealer in Ogden, Utah and noticed a Daytona sitting on the lot.  It looked a little strange with the nose cone and tail - never had seen anything like it.  Could have had it new for just over $5,000.  Already had my 1968 Charger and couldn't afford both of them.

70 4 speed R/T b5 missing motor $1000around 1990
69 R/T SE f6 $ speed $1500 around 1989-90
was aabout 10 minutes to late on a 69 charger hemi t5 4speed for $250 this was about 87-88

:o Cool.  What state was that F6RTSE in?  Curious, working on a personal unofficial theory that a higher percentage of F6 Charger landed in west coast or NW.

Magnum charger I hope you learned your lesson- you need to get on the internet  and get permission from  the all knowing  before you do something

The bronze 69 SE I rode in as a teenager sat behind a house for years. I remember walking out in the woods and sitting In the back rear seat just as I did as a 16 year old. The body and grille looked great. They parked it because the shock towers rusted.
Years later it was flatbeded and gone. Most Likely a parts car. Sure wish I asked about it and bought it. Nobody knows what happened to it?  :shruggy: :'(.   I still miss it to this day, some 40 years later.  That's the impact these cars have on us.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

I would be pissed if I was a seller and someone just wasted my time and gas, for a "joyride".  :Twocents:

In 1969 I was looking at a silver Hemi Charger 500 in a showroom in Glendale Ca..  I was just driving by the dealership in my '68 R/T when I spotted it.  I could have gotten into it for not much cash and the trade of the R/T.  I thought that the flush exposed headlight grill looked kind of goofy, so I passed..... :brickwall: :brickwall:

In around 1997 a local classic car dealership had a 1970 Dodge Charger R/T SE 440 6 pack 4 speed. Engine wasn't numbers matching block and it was painted yellow but original color was plum crazy. Completely restored and could have gotten it for around $10-15k PLUS he said it was owned by Steve Young  :brickwall:

As in the one I should have bought ?

It was a black one in Alabama. maybe 25 years ago give or take.

Black with black int. Sadly had one of the funniest looking clothsline racks on it made it look like a lawnmower  with a droopy front end  that looked like it would hurt your knees everytime you bumped into it

Oh, by they way it had this ugly engine in it that the plug wires went down thru those ugly black valve covers.

Yea, maybe I should  have gave him is asking price of $20K

Back 1994 at Indy (old Mopar Nats site) There was a nice original 66/67 Charger with a 426 Hemi. Only 10K.

fc7_plumcrazy

a few years ago (2005) there was an LL1 coloured original paint 68 Charger RT for sale in california. Could have bought it for 22k$. I had already a 68 Charger RT in QQ1. The LL1 was just an automatic which turned me off a bit. I regret not having bought it for my girlfriend as she loves the colour as much as I do.
