Why do I not like this.  The Government going door to door asking what you are doing to prepare in case of emergency.  What business is it of theirs, go mind your own F-in business.  They do not need to know what I have and what I am doing.

"The county still wants to know exactly what you are doing to start thinking ahead:"

A T-shirt with "CASPER" on it. That should get some traction in oh, say, Downtown Memphis?

I understand their intent, but of course the Law of Unintended Consequenses applies to all things government.

Seems to make a lot of sense, trying to help the public be aware of preparedness.
Some of us in the earthquake/tsunami zone are already prepared.

Don't want to participate?  Don't...

Same as:
Don't believe in abortion?  Don't have one.
Don't believe in gay marriage?  Don't marry a gay person.

Simple...

Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse

http://emergency.cdc.gov/socialmedia/zombies_blog.asp

"There are all kinds of emergencies out there that we can prepare for. Take a zombie apocalypse for example. That's right, I said z-o-m-b-i-e a-p-o-c-a-l-y-p-s-e. You may laugh now, but when it happens you'll be happy you read this, and hey, maybe you'll even learn a thing or two about how to prepare for a real emergency."

And it could be that simple.

But one could also think of it as they are trying to take inventory of what the public has.  Who is storing food, water, communication equipment, guns, ammo.  But who would believe that?  ;)

QuoteThe Government going door to door asking what you are doing to prepare in case of emergency.

If they come to my door my response will be:

"I have prepared to confront uninvited, trespassers that are full of suspicious questions by purchasing a 12ga shotgun. Do you have any more questions?".

:smilielol: Great reply!  I'm well prepared in that area.

It is definitley none of their damn business what I have or have not done to prepare for emergencies. If I haven't done what is needed, I'm the one that will suffer.

Don't believe in abortion?  Don't have one.

Right. Don't believe in murder? Don't kill anyone. Oh, wait...

I've never understood how socialists are the last to believe that individual actions have social impacts. They'll tell you that we ALL need to recycle or we ALL need to hand our guns over to the government or that we ALL should be riding bikes or using mass transit because the cumulative effects of not doing those things will be devastating. But when a certain activity fits their left-wing world view it's suddenly all about individual rights and you should mind your own business.
