I could try asking Ted Janak in Spring TX. He could covert the hood and fenders for a superbird

Ouch that hurts.  I love '70 Coronets and there is a TON of good parts on that car - bumpers, grilles, taillights, trunklid, etc.

The trim on the leading edge of the splashpan is a very sought after item and could make up half the selling price.

front edge splash plan moulding found on RT and the 500s .I sold just that for $100.00.The plastic fillers behind the bumpers is highly sought after

If I still lived in Houston, that car would already be at my house. I paid that much for a real nice set of fenders a few years ago. It's about a nine hour drive one way for me now.

As for the back glass, seems like we determined that it was too wide to use a bird back glass. May have been too square as well.
Mike G. should be able to fill us in on that. Surely he's checked on that at some point in time.

I sure hope someone puts that car to good use.  I could use the fenders, but he's just too far away.  :'(

So the Superbird hood is a Coronot hood, cut down and extended?

That guy has no clue as to what he has there. The grilles are worth quite a bit even if they need minor repair.

Yes Larry, the Coronet 4 dr rear glass is HUGE compared to the Superbirds, .....the Superbird glass is an odd animal in shape, not much out there that lends itself to imitating the bird plug/glass in shape and curvature

Thanks Mike.
Nowadays there are no salvage yards left where we could even go look for something similar, whether it be mopar, ford or gm.  Even here in the south the yards have crushed everything since the steel prices went up.

Bummer it was scrapped, but that's life.  ::)

I remember trying to sell cars or parts that others would tell you they desperately wanted, or needed, or that it was worth a small fortune. Even had a '69 Charger a few years ago that was a rolling shell with minimal rust & 2 rust free quarters. After a month of dreamers emailing & never showing up, I sold it for $500 to a local guy who cut it up & parted it out. I even recall getting an email from a member saying my price was too low on another car. In the end, nobody buys it & your stuck with whatever it was hoping to get it out of the way. If you have to have something gone, it has to go no matter what.

People will probably email this guy telling him he's a jackass or worse, but he probably did what he had to.  :Twocents:

The strange part of this is the fact that it was near a major city with millions of people and not one single person stepped up and bought it. If that car were advertised in the same manner here, a city of 100,000 people, it would have been bought the first day. That makes absolutely no sense. I know of at least four of us that would have been there with cash the first day that it was listed.

Yeap, unfortunately I didn't have the greenbacks until the day AFTER he junked it and only found out about it via this website. Don't frequent craigslist often.

When the good mopar stuff comes up on craigslist I get about ten phone calls from family and friends.
