They have been catching my attention lately. I have been looking around on Craigslist. Yesterday I took the Charger out for a drive in to Phoenix to go see a 77. Nice day to take the Charger out for a ride. Any El Camino owners on here?
1972 Charger Topper Special, 360ci, 46RH OD trans, 8 3/4 sure grip with 3.91 gear, 14.93@92 mph.
1973 Charger Rallye, 4 speed, muscle rat. Whatever engine right now?

I had a 74 Ranchero long ago. I dont think I want to own an old Ford now. I like Ranchero's, just think the up keep and parts finding will be horible. The Charger is expensive enough to up keep. Ford is almost as bad. I think parts finding for a Chevy will be a whole lot less expensive. If I get lucky I may find one that needs very little.

I have a 1980 el camino that was given to me by my ex girlfriends father. I like it but just don't have the time to restore it right now.
1959-1972 are cool, and I like the 1978-1987 when the choo choo conversion is done to them.

See now I like the big ones. 73 to 77. Bigger is better in everything but women. Uhh, unless you like big women.  :D

I had a '71. It was actually a GMC Sprint. Also had a really clean '77. Loved them both but the '77 was more of a luxury boat...a slow luxury boat with an anemic 305  :lol:.  

'68-'69's are cool too.

I do.  Dad and I have a 44,000 mile triple black fully loaded 70 el camino SS 396.  All original interior except the door panels.

im thinking sport as in terms of muscle.  high horse power big cubic tire roasting  gas sucking engines!    :2thumbs:

I love them.  My first car was a 72 Ranchero that my dad swapped a 351 Boss into and turned me loose.
