I don't think anyone is complaining, either.

This one probably sold low:

This one probably sold high:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DODGE-CHARGER-1969-NEEDS-RESTORED-ITS-ALL-THERE-318-V8-AC-/150982252607?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item23273e583f#ht_724wt_948

Either way, as we all know all too well just because a car auction ends on eBay doesn't mean the car actually SOLD.  :yesnod:

I hope that buyer has an AMD catalog and 30K pissin him off.

I would just call him a fool then.  He had the best coin possible for that car.  Maybe someone should show up in one of our "model cars" and then offer him bottom dollar for it.

I'm telling you guys again, the frame is toast and he knows it.  That car sags in the rear and he won't provide pics.  Claims he can't.   :rotz:   BS!  Put a light under it and stick the camera under it and take a pic.    :rotz:   There aint no way in hell I'd buy a car with that much rust showing without seeing the bottom unless it was a $2,000 parts car.   Come on, one of you guys in Jackson MS. go have a look for us and snap a picture or two.   Just for fun.    :icon_smile_wink:

let him keep the car & put it into storage !!  :Twocents:

In the end the market balances itself out.  It will adjust to its 'true' value

I'd hate to be one to turn you away from your dream car. I bought one in similar condition minus the motor but the tranny is there. It is a 68 Charger 383 4-barrel dual exhaust car. GG1 green, steel magnum 500s, chrome console automatic, a/c and only one seat needs repaired. It has a lot of surface rust and the trunk will have to go as well as the right quarter and sail pannel. Other than the motor (and I have one), and windshield, it is all there. I paid $1200.00 for it. Unless this car was an R/T, I can't see paying more than $4000.00 grand.

My dad always told me "theres an ass for every seat." So I'm sure someone out there might buy it...regardless of how crazy the price is..you never know. I just sold my Charger and got my asking price of $13,500 ...which I thought was a bit high...but I figured I'd start a little higher than lower. I had 10+ people call me the first day and it sold the next morning...just from a craigslist ad. I even had some guy that wanted to fly out from California and look at it. So as crazy as it seems, you never know who is out there looking.  ;D

I will have a Charger again...but in the meantime I picked up a matching '69 Roadrunner that was in storage for 30+ years to hold me over until I find that 4-speed Charger I'm looking for...mainly b/c it was a friend of my dad and he didn't want hardly anything for it.  :2thumbs:

why doesn't my dad know anyone like that??? :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall:

Supply and demand dictates the market.

Demand is the key word here. The only reason these cars are in demand is because of our emotional attachment. Its definitely not for the amazing fuel economy, plush ride, power amenities, or practicallity, its our emotional attachment.

actually we do buy it for those, i just don't consider electric windows an amenity, now a 440 :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

I dunno man, 10 mpg on a good day is pretty amazing fuel economy.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Cooter

"Emotional Attachment" Like that term........Like everybody has the uncontrolable need to be cooler than that 2013 Charger with all those Power ass scratchers, Seats, A/C, Doors that shut, 22 MPG highway gettin', etc.

Hmmmmm, Wonder if "Cool" really does have a pricetag? huh, I guess it does. Wonder if Reproduction Air Bag Modules will be repopped in 40 years for the new Musclecars? Wonder if they will be As pricey as they are today? How about all those power accessories. Wonder if they too will be repopped in the future?  I wonder if these newer Chargers parts will be discontinued 10 years after one buys it? Wonder if there will be folks at home trying to figure out electrical problems on these items on their "Collector" 2013 Charger when they can't do it today?
