Anyone car to share with me.  I'm really lost!  I've decided to go ooo-naturaaaawl.  No real difference then being medicated other then the fact I don't take naps and I have alot more energy.  My physical health has improved alot.  Having the energy and enough anger (that's our gift) to really hit the gym hard and start running (5km minimum) has been real nice and I don't want to give it up.  It's considered a disability actually.  I work full time.  Same place for the last 11 years.  The doctor at work asked me years ago what I was taking "these" drugs for and when I told him he said I've done good to stay out of jail and keep a job!  I thought he was nuts and we all had a good laugh about it.

Anyhow, I'm not laughing now.  I took 3 weeks off this summer knowing that I'd be finishing the last of my meds, I bought a lot of stuff and had all sorts of things to do to the car to help me get thru it.  I hung a heavy bag and a speed bag in the garage to work my frustrations out on.  Well I never touched anything.  I had someone help me take the hood off at the start of the vacation and then that was it for 3 weeks.  Then at the end of 3 weeks I called the doctor at work and said no way I was ready to come back.  I had kept them aware of what I was doing.  I took an additional 5 weeks off, at a slightly reduced pay rate but well worth it!

I went at the car 2 or 3 times a week as tolerated, thought I had really fixed it!  It's been gutless for years.  I found the fuel line for one thing was bent in 2 places.  Don't understand how real mechanics over the years missed that.  I changed the fuel pump pushrod after a big fight with the plug (welded).  I think I need to put the original accelerator pump back in the carb.  Can't find it.

I had broke a stud in the head which was one of my worst nightmares, but I prevailed!  First time I had to deal with that and I got it.  Course I had the engine hoisted up so I could take the headers right off to wrap with tape and put a new starter on.  Oddly enough, I think the gasket on the drivers side is blown (new) and when I shut the engine off you can hear "hissing" behind the studs.  I say the studs because when I tightened them the tone of the hiss changed.  I started to suspect a head gasket but don't want to diagnose that myself.

If you are still reading, anyone else here SUFFER from this and see your dreams and potential go down the crapper?  Have you been able to beat it at more then one area in life?  Have you successufully restored a car?  I'm actually thinking of maybe not getting rid of the car but let it sit.  Buy a late 80's mustang to satisfy my V8 cravings and play with it.  They are cheap enough.  That's the other thing $$$$$.  Just look at what a decent grille costs.

So many unorganized thoughts.  This is poem that started a book called ADHD success stories.  It hits the nail right on the head.   If nobody responds to this thread.................Moderator, feel free to delete the evidence.

Did you ever check into changing your diet ? I know some people that have cut out gluten/ wheat , soy and something else. I'll find out for you. It seems to really help. Here is one link http://www.webmd.com/add-adhd/guide/adhd-diets . google ADHD diets there is a lot of info.

My diet is CLEAN!   But going gluten free is the next step.  I appreciate the help.  I don't really eat alot of bread.   Hardly at all really.  Breakfast is usually an omlete and fruit.  Sometimes pancakes from the south beach diet.  That includes liquid egg substitute, oatmeal, and cottage cheese all blended together.  I suppose the oatmeal is probably a gluten/wheat product.

I'm going on vacation this week and when I come back, the gluten free diet is the next thing on my list.  I'm guessing it won't be easy, to find out what isn't safe.  I allready stay away from soy, but that's because it's suppose to be full of estrogen!

I don't think ADHD is really that big of problem.  In fact, hey a butterfly!

Just read labels. There are a lot of good gluten free products out there. If you need help with it PM me. My daughter has celiac's disease so I eat gluten free with her.

This sounds promising.  How do you handle your ADHD?

My second oldest has it - he's high end ADHD. Let's just say from around 10 years of age until 20 it was a whole lot of fun I wouldn't wish on a broke dick dog. It took around 4 years just to get his meds straightened out - he was growing and the meds weren't compensating. Anyway now he's nearly 25 and has nearly but not quite cut out the meds. He's on 1/4 of what the doctors recommend.

I never believed in ADD/ADHD until I got to see it first hand. Wow!

Good luck to you and your plan. I do hope it works out for you.

Methylphenidate is cheap and generic.  Just make sure you know which subtype you're dealing with, as not all present with hyperactivity.  And be on the lookout for hypertension.  I like dogs.  Do you like dogs?

I was on methylphenidate (aka on the street speed)  Price isn't a concern here, it's covered by our medical plans.  I'm not sure what you mean by subtype or hypertension.

I decided to get off of it because it was making me anxious.  I could feel it in my chest 20 minutes after I took the pills.  I read about it awhile back in a book by Russel Barkley but can't remember the other drugs.  Basically meth affects you one way and then there is a polar opposite that may help as well?  I was just to the point where I wanted it all out of my system.

 It's funny you'd say that... My boss has SERIOUS ADHD...  So, every time she's coming in the room I'll stop dead in my tracks and say "oh wow, look at the butterfly!" and walk away... It's finally catching on.

Sorry to say it, but I spent almost 10 years on Speed... Got to the point that I was poppin' 50 a day (yes, 50). I have no idea why I'm still alive, but I will tell you this.. I was unable to focus on ANYTHING and it almost destroyed my marriage.

The hissing you hear is probably because you didn't seal the exhaust studs which penetrate the water jacket. You'll have to take them out and seal them with pipe dope, or try some leak-stop in your radiator first to see if that stops it.

I did use the white pipe dope on it.  Possibly not enough?  And I let them sit overnight.  The don't have the raised shoulder.  If that matters.

Now onto a totally different question.  To help me get organized.  I have a samsung galaxy ace super phone.  No data plan.  Is there a way I can enter my calender into the computer then sync it to the phone?
