ZZZZZZ  oops I must have fallen asleep.  Any news yet ?
MOPAR OR NO CAR !!

Original post was back in 2011.

At this point, I would suggest that if you really want a registry for these cars, start one yourself.  :shruggy:

XS29L

I  don't know how to do that and there was someone working on it. Guess it's not going to happen.  The End .
MOPAR OR NO CAR !!

Hey Dan, ever thought of this?

I'd be more than happy to chip in, but I understand money is one thing and time is another.

Sorry, these threads must annoy the sh*t out of you.

I'm working on it.  Give me a few days.

Homerr

I could use some feedback on this.  Changes?  Additions?

It'll be open like the '69 500 one.

technically "Vehicle Order Number" should be "Shipping Order Number" for '68

Thanks, fixed it.

Looking good Homerr.
Do you think it would be good to have a 'Documentation Known' section like that of the 500 registry?
Also, you have the State listed, but what about Country too?
Cheers,

Since they were made at St. Louis & Hamtramck for the '68 model year, it would be cool to see them listed separately somehow so as it fills in over time the VINS from each plant line up in order.

Homerr

I'll work on that Alaskan_TA.  And I'm making this a bit bigger project than my originally posted example above.

I have a request:

I'm in need of a clear photo of a 1968 Charger fender tag.  I'm looking for something decent enough to use as an example, i.e. without gobs of paint build-up or rusty, too much flash shine, and pretty much a straight-on example.  And as far as rights - a picture that you don't mind me using for this purpose alone, which is non-commercial, which I can annotate without ripping off others work in the Mopar community.  Send to (without spaces): 1968 charger registry at gmail daht com.

Homerr

BTW, I just re-read this thread and, Dan and Troy, I hope I'm not stepping on toes.  A few days ago I thought I remembered this registry as an abandoned work, so I started based on the 69 500 registry experience and it's snowballing a bit on me.  Well as I re-read, maybe it is, and maybe it isn't.

But honestly it's been years since this thread was started and hopefully I'm offering you some friendly competition (or you can have my cooperation and take over anything I get off the ground, hah!).  Don't get too frightened, the only thing I could do a week ago on a spreadsheet was basic autosum addition.  In any case I'm having fun learning some new tools.

No worries. Keep it coming....  :2thumbs:

The 1968 Charger Registry has been started and abandoned at least three times in the past with all the data for each being lost. That's the main reason I didn't want to take it on until I had time to dedicate to it. That and there's no point in having more than one at a time. As you've found, to do it right you need more than an Excel spreadsheet (or a really fancy Excel spreadsheet). Dan has been collecting VIN and tag information. I'm only handling the tech side of things. As mentioned, I own the domain names and have a good basis for the site and software but I have other (paying) jobs that take precedence. Not to mention this site which takes a lot more time (and money) than it should. My hope was to push out all the extra web sites that I have on hold during the next server upgrade - which was supposed to happen in March but I got sent to New Zealand. It's unlikely that I'll make any changes before Carlisle and now I'm scheduled to be in Australia later in July. I just spent all weekend upgrading hard drives and moving data and it reminded me how much I'd rather be out driving on these nice sunny days than siting in front of a computer.

bull

The good news is it never gets done so there's little danger of having more than one registry at a time. :P

Troy, if you could schedule your trips to NZ, peak summer and therefore peak car show season is Jan - March, always a cold one in the fridge here if you felt inclined

I was there in March but you're pretty far from Wellington I believe. I looked around the site before I left and didn't see anyone that would be close. I wanted to visit the car museum there but I was with a bunch of non-car people and didn't have my own ride so we visited wine country instead. I don't drink wine but the drive was pretty awesome!

I'll be in Sydney or Melbourne Australia around November for a couple weeks. If I can plan an extra week I'll hop a plane over to NZ for an actual vacation.

Oh, and you guys may have noticed a hiccup in the site this morning. Looks like that server upgrade may happen a lot sooner than I planned. I'll try to get some thing up during the changeover.

Yes, I'm about 7 hours drive North from there, but in March I was still away working in Abu Dhabi anyway.
Southwards Car Museum in Paraparaumu is definitely worth a look but there is plenty of interesting and fun things to do in Wellington or further afield as it is.

I have been looking everywhere for a 68 Charger Registry and haven't found one so I made one. Please check it out, my 68 Charger is the only one listed right now. I really hope to get this site going. I think it will be a great way to show off each other's cars too because we can create profiles for our cars on there.

I know this is an old post but I wanted to make sure you guys knew about it since that's the topic of this post.

That's awesome I can't believe I missed that one! Thank you for directing me to it.  I'm hoping I can create one that is more of a social media site where people can have a profile with pictures and descriptions of their cars on a posting that others can view. Maybe even help connect past owners and current owners.

Are you the creator of this registry?
