:yesnod: Those stats I think are pretty accurate. The county I grew up in in NE Oregon is 80-100% pop and when I moved to the NW part of the state I started hearing some calling it soda, which is in the 60-80% range.

I've always wondered about this in passing but never thought anyone would create an entire demographic on the topic. Guess it will have to go into the "party trivia" portion of my memory.

In California in the 70's we said pop.   Now it's soda.

Here in Illinois, I have heard it referred to as soda, pop, soda pop and sodie. I personally call it soda, but all four seem to be common around here.

In Ontario - It's pop.

If you ask for a soda - you will get a Club Soda.
