Was at a place and didn't know if they had Coke or Pepsi, so I ordered a "Cola".

I had to say "Cola" THREE times and finally barked out  "C - O - L - A, you know Coka-cola or Pepsi-cola".

It was like I was speaking Martian to the guy.

Western Kansas was pop.  Also, one hour lunch breaks & that time is called dinner.  Evening is supper.


When I moved up here I made a conscientious effort to watch what I said & how I said it.  The 1st thing asked isn't "where you from" now.  I can't remember the last time someone asked that so I must have succeeded.

I was born & raised here in NW Washington..it's been "pop" all my life...but going to a restaurant or places like that..they call it "soda"

A few years ago I bought a tshirt at 7-11 for my daughter that said "If soda wins, I'm moving to Canada".  She loves that shirt.   No contest up here, but I got the shirt in like Nebraska, I think....
