Just FYI...thse new repros are available.  These bulbs were getting hard to find in original painted style.

were they like that original from factory ?

Locally I just can find amber bulbs with somekind of clear paint to look like the actuall tinted amber glass. The "paint" allways get chipped off from the glass, so I decided to get tinted amber glass kind from USA. But never have though the factory mounted PAINTED LIKE THAT amber bulbs

Yes - The 1157A was a painted (over clear) amber bulb. The 1157NA = Natural Amber - the glass is actually amber- not painted.

The repops have the wrong base though....which I guess you would not see once installed.

Thats amber glass, not painted amber bulbs like they were originally.
