If you haven't seen it already, there is a B5 Blue Superbird on the cover on the Jan '12 issue of Auto Enthusiast magazine.  The car belongs to Steve Liabenow... I didn't know if he was a member here or not.  If you like, I can scan the article.

Beautiful car!!  Reminds me of the first wing car I ever drove.  I was 17 and one of my brothers friends let me drive his B5 440 4 speed bird.  The trip lasted about half an hour but the memories are alive 31 years and counting.  That 'bird is still one of the nicest cars I have ever driven, of course it was only 10 years old at the time. :icon_smile_big:

Cool. I had feeling that someone was gonna know the car. I had a subscription to the magazine and this is my last issue. I haven't decided if I was going to re-new. I tend to like magazines with more tech articles. Great car though. I'd like to see some of the vintage photos where it is decal'ed up as a pace car.

I can picture the car and the owner, but I can't for the life of me recall his name.

Yep, that's me and my soul mate. Thanks evryone, it was well worth the wait. Al and the staff at Amos Auto Enthusiast did a great job with this one. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do. I am really excited to own this piece of racing and musclecar history.

Thansks again for tthe support

In regards to pics of the Bristol Pace Car graphics, here are a couple that I currently have. As you can see they aren't the clearest, I am working on getting a better one from the original owners family. I am also thinking of placing a want ad down in that area in hopes of someone having pics or video of it at or on the track back then.

Thanks for posting those pictures Steve!  That 'Bird looks pretty cool. I'm sure that someone in the area would have pictures from way back when. Have you checked with the track?  They may have archived pictures from years ago.

No problem, I wish they were better then the magazine would have included them in the article. I have talked to a couple of people from the track and they weren't sure if they would have anything on it. I would imagine it's not a high priority for them as well. Thanks

After looking at these pics again, I wonder what it would cost to have a body wrap done with the blackout and Bristol graphics??? I would love to have that history back on the car but I also love the way it looks now, especially when you can see the awesome Roadrunner Superbird logos.

Thanks John, I am real happy with my Bird. Like I said earlier post, my soul mate.

Hope you and your family are doing well. How is your Y2 Tona coming along? Do you still have the awesome green machine as well?

Take care,
WINGR/Steve

Looking Good Steve!
 :2thumbs:

Thanks Scott, I remember calling you on my way back from looking at and leaving a deposit for it. Again I am very happy with my decision to get it and hope to someday pass it down to my girls. Hopefully we can get the two B5 beasts together next year, maybe at Indy. How is she running now, hope all is great. :2thumbs:
