So what is that odd looking thing that Mary picks up at the Dutton Flats Flea Market? Where the guy takes it out of her hand, and then she bumps into him to swipe it back.

It's the 1920's equivalent to a Wal-Mart auto accessory.  It was popular in the days of external rad fills to have those aftermarket add ons to individualize your ride.  Some of them are EXTREMELY collectable and very highly priced.  I don't think that one is as much as the crystal "mascots" are.  Many of the crystal ones were commissioned by noted artists of the time.

So what program was used to do the screen shots?

Took the screenshots with "PowerDVD". Just hit a screencap button, and the scene will be saved as *.bpm. After that, to make the files smaler, I convert them to *.jpg. It took me about a hour-and-a-half to make the screencaps, upload them to the internet, and post them.

Some intetesting things to note...

The Non-R/T '69 has the taller front bumper guards.
The R/T '69 has the shorter front bumper guards.

The car that is a '68 from the front and '69 from the back (rams the cop car into the stream) has '69 reverse lights.
The damaged car in the orchard has a '69 tailpanel and no '69 reverse lights (giveaway as a real '68). But this car looks to have a damaged '69 grille in all shots (with only the lower front bumper guards).

Makes me wonder if they used more cars than I initially thought (one '68, one '69 R/T, one base '69), or if that is just some camera fakery going on.  You would think the car with the '68 grille would be the one without the '69 reverse lights in the valance.

I think it's just the three Jon.  I think the cop in the river scene is filmed twice with two different cars.  The 68 car has a roll bar in it and is used for that stunt.  There are definitely two 69's.  One has extra speakers on the dash and Airtemp stickers in the glass.
I've watched that movie literally dozens of times but I could still be wrong so I don't mind watching it again. ;D

Anyone know what song that is playing on the radio that Mary is singing along to? Not really singing but more like humming the sounds?

bah-bah

buh-buh-buh-buh

bah

Or something like that?

Thanks for finally finding the train crossing for me. I'm at Travis AFB in Fairfield, and was riding around Lodi and Linden a few months back looking for familiar sights. I was amazed that much of the surrounding areas look the same as in the movie, right down to the walnut groves.

Any idea where the drawbridge was located? I have a suspicion it's on HWY 12 between I-5 and Rio Vista (near Fairfield)

I found the train crossing yesterday--thanks to Drache's directions and Mapquest. To my suprise I found the pool hall where they enjoyed their last beer. The inside looks the same, and there is a "liquopr licence" application notice in the window. The location is on HWY 26, about 4 miles from the rail crossing in Linden.

That's just too cool.  Now you have to find the grocery store, the barn where they fixed the Chevy, and the general store where they tried to ditch Mary.  And the drawbridge.

That's cool that the bar is still in that good of shape.
