I know I'm probably going to get beat up about this but I don't like it. Is there nothing sacrid in American heritage anymore.

It's like when you go to a classic car show and some punk comes driving in with his ricer with his music thumping at 200 decibels

Theres just something not right about it.   :-\

change and progress are part of the American heritage.

I can see where youre coming from...but like I was saying...while GM and Ford are cutting jobs, Toyota is building more plants...so really, which one is more American at this point?

I have said it before, and I'll say it again. I bet in the next 20 years, there will be no American owned car builders left. Mopar is basically owned by the Germans now, Ford and Chevy will be bought out also by then too. Just wait.

It just doesnt sit well with me. To me, Nascar should only be our root history manufacturers....You know....the big three.

If Toyota and Honda want to get into stock car racing....Let um start there own version of Nascar.

I tell you one thing. As a diehard Nascar fan. You will never see me up in the stands chearing for a Toyota or Honda car. No matter whos driving it.

I just don't like um and I will never own one ever again.

Sorry if you don't agree but it's just how I feel about this. Only an opinion.

it really does not matter if it says toyota on it somewhere.  Do you think Wang and Hin are going to be in the pits wrenching on these things and driving?

Well I hate to bring up the other bad news but NASCAR is going to a common template car. They had a pic of it on the NASCAR website. The car is Fugly, looks like a cross between a camery and the ford fusion, and sports a ricer wing instead of the spoiler that they have used for decades. The car makes me want to  :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke:

I saw the new car and I'm not impressed. So is this turning into another IROC series?Someone complained earlier about how when they did run
" stock cars"how boring it was.Well did you watch IROC?These new cars will make a real snooze fest.Is Nascar now above the automakers and want a NASCAR car so they won't have to pay licensing and trademark royalities for souvenirs?I watched Nascar until Mopar pulled out in the 80's.When Dodge came back I watched the first year but Dodge got screwed again by Nascar and who wants to watch racing so boring that a
GM usually wins?As far as Toyota, I don't like it but I guess that's America today.Have to make the next generation of rice lovers happy to get them to buy tickets. All praise the Babyboomers for their love of money.Toyota will end up winning because they get to use the best of GM,Ford,
and Mopar engine tech.Just like where they learned how to build cars in the first place.I think this Heinz 57 motor will end up in the new Nascar body.

It survived for 50+ years the way it is, now they add an import brand and go to a generic body. This generic body is an obvious ploy to please Toyota. They are cutting their own throats with these changes and I think it is going to be funny(to non NASCAR fans) what happens.

I predict a surge in drag  racing as motor heads in general will be turned off by the NEW nascar.

I beg to differ, I found a pic of the new common template car from an "alternate" source...some of you might recognize it.

Never have, never will own anything made by Honbarutoysan...   that's just me..  a guy from Detroit - rock city.

And I don't really see much reason to follow nascar much anymore unless it's some lousy day out and that's all that's on tv.

As for throwing in yoda's...  well,  now it's officially on the downslope and picking up speed.   I'll give the France family some credit for sticking to their guns - some good, some bad over the years but now they just sold the ph8ck out.

Anybody remember Indy car racing?   Me neither for about the last 5 years or more.
Last I heard they went to a spec car and a spec engine...  yawn...    at least they do have Danica Patrick to get a few people to show up now.

:haha: :haha:

NASCAR is trying to cut the costs of owning a team, and minimize cheating with this common template. It will do neither. Part of the problem is the new leaders that own NASCAR. Bill France Sr. a race car driver founded NASCAR, he wrenched and drove his own race cars. His heirs who now run NASCRAP couldn't tell the difference between a fan belt and a plug wire. I think the comparison to IROC hits the nail on the head.
Since Roger Penske owns a butt load of Toyota dealerships it looks like my man Ryan Newman will be driving a Camery next year. :oye: :bawling:
This is starting to make Indy cars look good. ::)

Shhhh...keep this under your hat. Lets keep the SEC out of this.

There are some rumors going around investment circles that Toyota is looking
to buy GM. It might be worth looking at GM stock.

How ironic would it be...Someone gets GM stock now, Toyota takes over, stock prices
soar, you sell and buy a Mopar at Barrett-Jackson :icon_smile_big:

But what do I know. I'm just an Irish ditch digger :icon_smile_wink:

Welcome to the WWF of Auto Racing!

As an employee of WWE, I take offence at some members on this board equating Professional Wrestling with NASCAR.   :D  You should all be ashamed of yourselves.   :D
