Gopro video of a 130mph crash

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-9XSOM5eIo

QuoteA horrific crash at the Willow Springs Raceway in California was all captured on camera when enthusiast Peter Tryce lost control of his Cobra while driving at 130 MPH. Amazingly Tryce survived and was not seriously injured.

In the video, Tryce recounts his thoughts leading up to and during the accident.

"What was that? Something didn't feel right. The car just got real loose for a second, then seemed OK," he explains.

"Then, with no warning, the car veers hard right, just before the Brake Zone on the fastest part of the track. Something breaks in the front suspension or steering. At 130+ miles it's time to start praying. And I did."

As the car comes to a rest, Tryce recounts the one thought going through his mind: " I am thanking God that I am alive right now."

The crash left a trail of debris 500 feet long and utterly destroyed the car.

Crazy crash.

Take a look at this comment from the driver- 500 feet of rolling!!!!

@heyheypaulak. Good eye. I was the driver of the car. I had 2 St Christophers in the car. At the speed these cars can go I felt some day I May need both. 1 was lost in the wheck the one which is in the vid was found by a track worker somewhere over the 500 feet of rolling I did. He came to the garage about an hour after the wreck and asked if I had a St Christopher in the car and returned it to me. How cool is that. Then to see it in the vid. Makes u think!

Funny, I was wondering what those were too. Almost looked like a bicycle chain flying around.

Speaking of things floating around, it looks like it would be a good idea to fasten all of the belts in your car.  Those five-point belts are heavy and steel-tipped, and I think they could do some real damage whipping around the driver.
