Hi guys looking for some advise.working on a custom cuda and we are hiding as much wireing as possible to give it a clean look.with the msd 6al do I still need the ballets resistor, what about the volt regulator.can I use an alternator with built in reg.any help would be great thanks  :shruggy:

You don't need a ballast with the MSD. When removing the ballast with the factory ignition switch you need to tie the wires on both sides of the ballast together.

Some alternators with a built-in regulator still need 3 wires, for the cleanest installation you need a "one-wire" alternator.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

with the MSD the Brown [start] & Blue [run] wire are connected together with the red trigger wire on the MSD , the coil feed is eliminated , all at the ballast
