Looks like a '54 Town Wagon.  Bad ass!

Wow. Incredibly rare Mopar. It's a '57 and it was a one year only model.

Style: it was the last year of the single head light, only year of that grill, and first year of a Dodge with the hood opening from the front (rear hinges) instead of the previous side opening dual hoods (center hinge). Called "cowl forward" to complement Chrysler Forward Look Design car lineup.

For Dodge it was a revolutionary truck. Important new features included first time ever power steering, power brakes, 12-volt ignition system, tubeless tires and a push-button LoadFlite automatic transmission.

Motor was the standard 230 cubic inch L-six with 120 horsepower. A new 204 horsepower 315 cubic inch V-8 engine became the optional engine for 57 trucks. Don't know anything about gearing but I bet it was ultra low.

Incredibly rare, not just for the above pickup features, but that it's a Power Wagon and a panel at that. Wow.

FWIW, that's an original paint color. It was on my 58 Dodge pickup too.

It's a real challenging question - leave the original color or go black, or maroon, or forest green?

Any chance of a pic of your 58? Never have seen one before like the one above, the only Power Wagon I'd seen was that one from Simon & Simon that was on tv years ago , we just dont get em out here.

Closest thing around would be a few D series, really like the sweptline and Dude Trucks

Actually the 253 is a potent little motor.
Had one in an HJ Statesman and that thing, even with all it's weight used to fairly piss along.

Neat truck! A friend of mine has a Power Wagon- a 1976 single cab short bed that we just put a 440 in. It's got a 11" lift, 39.5 TSL Super Swampers with 5.86 gears front and rear with a B&M ratchet shifter. It's a fun truck for sure.
