I've never seen the catalog for these cars, thanks for posting it.

This winter I plan to take inventory of all the toys & collectibles I have & take photos, too. I think I have almost all of the slot cars pictured above, but I can't recall if any have working headlights.  :shruggy:

Lili Ledy was the Aurora licensee/ distributor in Mexico. They were packaged with a sticker for the numbers, rather than having them tampo printed on the car. One of each color daytona is currently listed on ebay (280774484909, 200676981508). This photo is from a separate ebay listing (350413302525) that offers reproduction stickers for the cars.

Did the white box 2 daytonas come out after 76.

i'm not sure what year they came out. The ones on the white box aren't mine, so I dont know if that was how they came packaged. I've seen  a few scans of a 1976 catalog for Lili Ledy that did not show any slot cars, so I would assume they were released earlier in the decade.

In the mid 1970's, Lili Ledy would have been gearing up for their release of Star Wars toys. They also made several action figures during that time. Mexico law required that the toys be produced in mexico, so the company had several variations from the toys sold here in the states. Check out some of the history of lili ledy- it's pretty cool.

that blue one is tempting...he started those out at like 150 and 75 a couple weeks back.

i need 'em both but that orange car is rough...

held1823

this thread has led to me discovering that i'm missing more of them than i thought.

my blue, yellow, and orange ones have the silver highlighting around the roof number...

... while the blue and yellow flamethrower versions do not have the silver....

i was aware of the windshield (clear vs. blue) variations, but assumed the silver outlining was only seen on the non-lighted cars. i did not realize the flamethrowers also had the silver outline.

disregarding the windshields entirely, it looks like they produced the following. (are these first seven the variations you referred to, doug?)

1. blue, no headlights, with silver trim
2. blue, flamethrower, with silver trim
3. blue, flamethrower, no silver trim

4. yellow, no headlights, with silver trim
5. yellow, flamethrower, with silver trim
6. yellow, flamethrower, no silver trim

7. orange, no headlights, with silver trim

8. lili ledy, blue/white
9. lili ledy, orange/black

I'm missing the blue flamethrower with silver.  I didn't know, either, until i matter-of-factly told my friend the same thing you thought.  he then picked up one of my yellow flamethrowers and pointed out that not only was I wrong but I owned one of the cars I denied existing!

held1823

you're one up on me, then. i need both flamethrowers with the silver. plus the ledy cars.

what's worse, over time i've sold off the three or four extras i had of each color, and probably had them without even realizing it.

OMG! That brings back memories! I at one time had over half the cars on the list (first pic.) I was into that racing with my best friend big time!
