Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals - Chicago Pics

The show was November 19th & 20th in Chicago.   A huge show encompassing all things muscle old and new.  Several hundred cars all held indoors.    I did not take too many pics as my camera isn't the best indoors, but here are some winners.


Mark Sekula's Limelight Superbird, 440 4V, auto  Fresh resto and it is for sale.


Scott Lindsay's cutaway display Hemi engine


Jason Thompson's prototype Talladega.   Word on the street is this car may be up for grabs at B-J next January.

JW Hames from Mississippi is a friend of Corndogs Charger and he and his wife brought this beautiful Tor-Red Bird.    The show organizers placed it next to old #7 which was a nice way to show people the differences between street and race.


Compare the height difference between the cars.


This Tucker greeted show attendees in the lobby of the convention hall.

Tim Wellborn brought six cars, four of them were Chargers.


Tim's highly optioned Hemi GTX.   He said it stickered for $6800 when new.   A lot of beer and pizza.

Yes I agree on that. I saw the car in Dubuque this fall and was amazed at how optioned it is. Very nice. Thanks for posting pics. Geno the RT looks real nice. Good enough to keep I'd say.

I heard that show was awesome!  JW told me there was A LOT of really nice high end cars to look at from all brands.  I would have loved to make it to that show.

The show was great, LOTS of very nice high end cars to see. That "mauve" 300 pictured above was beautiful, and I got to take a bunch of pics of the "DustAAR" Duster (behind the custom painted Corvette in Dougs Pics)
Doug, I tried to stop by and say "HI" again but each time I came by the #7 there was always a crowd! you must have been exhausted by the end of the show!

Looks like a cool show.... We just finished out World of Wheels Autorama here in Houston (Thanksgiving weekend). I'll post some pics later.

Yes, that was indeed a very cool car.  I spent more than a few minutes all over it.  TONS of documentation to go with it.  I also liked Jeff B.'s red '68 HemiCharger that both Julius (of Restorations by Julius) and Ken Funk owned in the past... pic below.  Very nice low-mile car even with a repaint.

Geno the RT looks real nice. Good enough to keep I'd say.  

Yeah, there will be no tears shed if that one stays put in my garage for sure.  If it doesn't sell, I will, however, have to put back all the things we took off just for the show's OEM/concours judging (MSD Ignition, headlight relay & halogen headlamps, non-original Tic-Toc-Tach, etc.).



BTW, it was great seeing you as usual, Doug.  Thanks for bringing Sue by to say "Hi", and for posting the pic of my car.  Nice to see John Rizek & his wife, the Kanofsky's and a couple other board members as well - the weekend started off by meeting Ryan/Devil as my shuttle driver from the truck/trailer marshalling yard.

The owners of a '67 Gran Prix and '72 Buick GS convertibles (which were parked next to me) and I bummed around a lot.  Best line of the weekend overheard coming from spectators?  A couple of gangsta types were looking at the trunk of the 'Prix, and one said to the other - "That's a 5 body trunk for sure... 10 if we cut 'em up."
