2nd gen.

doesn´t seem to be very common looking at pictures from the time or sale ads.

tinted windscreen is more common - and sometimes only the tinted top "band"...

but the cars that have them all around sure look fabulous - so I just wonder why so seldom seen in pics....

any thoughts?

I believe A/C cars came standard with tinted windows. Are you talking about aftermarket dark tint?

no - I think I mean original tinted...

mine has them - original chrysler text in bottom corner on all windows - front, sides and back - and quite dark green for being tinted in my opinion (but I assume that that "dark" green shade is the tint that chrysler used) - but so many cars I see on ebay for example (incl a/c) does not have these tinted windows all around (and mine is non a/c so option maybe - and VIN code says tinted all around so option on my cas I assume).

difference is quite marked and visible on photographs...

so if a/c has standard tinted all around - why so many without them - maybe standard from 69 or 70 onwards?

I check 68s normally and there very rare at least...

My 69 SE with A/C has them "all around". Seems pretty common to me as I needed glass for a door and rear window and found it fairly easily.

My 69 has them like all A/C chargers but my former non A/C 68 had them too.
I see more tinted on ebay than clear .
Tint should be all the same, about 70% clear but the green does make it look darker at times.I'd like to find a complete set of clear glass so I can have them tinted black.

Believe it or not for some strange reason my car was built with H51(A/C) but has the G21(clear glass)option as well.. :o

My R/T has A/C and tinted windows all the way around. It is an option, and I'm glad it has it.  I agree that it adds a good look to the car.

My '68 came with just a tinted windshield. My 1970 Coronet has tinted windows all around. I find that the camera doesn't always capture the tint.

As others have stated, tinted glass is usually the norm on A/C equipped cars.  I have quite a few A/C cars with just a tinted windshield in the registry though....

My non A/C car is clear all the way around from the factory. It was a real pain and expensive finding a non tinted windshield. A '69 Satellite donor provided the clear door and side glass for it.
